BSOD System Service Exception

Hi 7Forums,

I hope I can get some assistance on decoding a .dmp log.

Some background:
I've recently been getting some BSODs, I built my computer roughly three years ago, and clocked it at 4.0ghz with the neccessary volts. I had tested it when I oc'd initially and it was stable in prime for 8 hours no problem, back then I also ran memtest and the ram passed easily.

So recently i've been unable to figure out why i'm getting BSODs. I've attributed it to the fact that it might be because my computer is beginning to age and I have a relatively aggressive overclock. However, even when downclocking and watching the CPU temps, there doesn't seem to be a problem. I've also taken the time to rebuild my PC with new artic silver TP.

I've attached the my latest .dmp log with this post in the hopes that someone might be able to open it and give it a look. I'm having some trouble installing the debugging tools for some reason, but will surely figure that puzzle out later on!

Thank you very much and I appreciate you!

P.S i've compressed it into a zip because I can't upload .dmp files, sorry for the trouble!

A single crash dump is not enough to debug a stop 0x3B. Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Install Service pack 1 and all other windows updates. Otherwise the system will remain vulnerable to threats.

Hi Arc,

I have attached 9 more dumps in the zip. I'm having some problems with the SF_Diagnostic tool... it seems to be giving me a critical error right when it is about to finish, do you have any instructions for me to manually pull the logs?

Do one more thing ..... upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

Are you Overclocking?
Code:
Processor Version AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor
  Processor Voltage 8fh - 1.5V
  External Clock 200MHz
  Max Speed 3900MHz
  Current Speed 4010MHz
As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings. Also set the BIOS to default, too.
How To Clear CMOS (Reset BIOS)

Update your ATI/AMD display driver th the latest 13.9 WHQL.
You can get it from the link in our forum, Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

Try to update the BIOS to the latest one .... Version 2001 dated 2011.04.22 from M4A87TD/USB3 - Motherboards - ASUS

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Let us know the results.

Good question. Yes, it is risky and if you dont have any idea about what you are going to do, better you dont do it.

Leave it pending for now. Do the other suggestions. If it continue crashing the same way despite of all, take help of a technician to update the BIOS.

Hi Arc,

Sure thing, ill flip a coin somewhere down the line if its not working out.

One more thing I found out, I also tend to bsod when I shutdown my computer if I still have some programs open (Mozilla, steam etc). When I click force close programs, my computer might BSOD.

It might take me a while to run the memtest, but I will update this thread when I do, thanks for your help. ill also run prime95 overnight.
