Random BSOD - Driver Power State Failure

    Hello,

A few minutes after logon, applications become non responsive. Then the screen will totally freeze, meaning a hard restart is the only option. Occasionally, I also get a driver power state failure BSOD instead of the screen freezing up (not sure what this means). Laptop runs fine in safe mode and have been attempting to determine which service/application/hardware is causing the problem using msconfig, but to no avail. Please help!

Welcome to Seven Forums :) .

Several critical files are missing from the zip you uploaded, please rerun the SFDT until it completes
generating & collecting all the files.
MSINFO32 is empty due to the WMI service not being active.
Please confirm you have these services running and active:
Security Center, IP Helper, Windows Management Instrumentation.
    > Services.msc > hit enter.

From I could gather with what was uploaded, several courses of action is needed for now:

    Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply. I decided to send to Samsung as the laptop was still in warranty and I couldn't see how it would be a software issue. Sure enough there was a fault with the motherboard, which they are replacing.

    Cheers
