Can I just power it off after it either passes or fails (while it's still running)? I've been pressing ESC, which boots into windows and that just slows things down. I don't see any other way to quit.

ESC is the only way I know to stop it. But, if you get an error, you can stop it right there. It failed. I really don't know about powering it off.

Knock on wood... it seems to be running again. Memory all passed. I tried a large, high quality render and it took a long time, which was to be expected (well, long when you're sitting and staring at it but in the grand scheme of things, maybe only 5 min, which is actually fantastic). CPU ran 59-60C for most of it but it only showed hot in Speccy for a second or two at a time and then dropped back down. It was only using 75% of the CPU capacity and nowhere near the max amount of memory. So for now, I'm calling it done.

Thanks for the help, everybody. I never could have done this without y'all.
