Any problems after removing Acronis, if you've removed it? I'm sure there's been quite a few problems after or before a certain edition of that program.
Just uninstalled Acronis.

Here is a screen capture of the HTML screen. I'm not sure what else to do to get the minidump files.
Got a BSOD again while downloading a large file to my External HDD connected to the USB 3.0 Orico PCIe Card. I check the minidump directory and no new dump file created so I haven't posted another zip file. Acronis was uninstalled prior to the BSOD.
I don't know how I missed it the first time around but I follow the directions, hopefully will get a dump file on the next BSOD:
Here is a write-up of conditions I found to be necessary to generate a dump:
MEMORY DUMPS – REQUIREMENTS
CREATE MINIDUMP FOLDER
WIN | type %systemroot% | ENTER
If Minidump is not shown, Then
CTRL + SHIFT + N keycombo |
CONTINUE button | type Minidump | ENTER
Enable automatic management of the Paging file
WIN + PAUSE key combo |

Under Write debugging information, select Small memory dump |
in the Small dump directory: box, enter %SystemRoot%\Minidump | OK
If Overwrite any existing file is checked, then:
- Under Write debugging information, select Kernel memory dump
- Uncheck Overwrite any existing file
- Under Write debugging information, select Small memory dump
- OK button
If you get a crazy message from Win 7 about your paging file being too small, then just ignore the message since we have already made sure that the paging file is set to be managed by Win 7.
ENABLE THE WINDOWS ERROR REPORTING SERVICE

Uncheck Memory Dumps
WINDOWS ERROR REPORTING SERVICE must NOT be disabled!
- WIN | Services.msc | Enter
- Under Name, locate Windows Error Reporting Service
- If Status is not Started, then
Right-click on Windows Error Reporting Service |choose START- If Startup Type is not Automatic, then
Right-click on Windows Error Reporting Service |
choose Properties | General tab |
set Startup type to Automatic- Close Services.msc (I like to use ALT + F4)
After a crash, the minidump file will be in %SystemRoot%\Minidump
%SystemRoot% is generally C:\Windows
Configure it to a Kernel Memory dump, Stop 0x101's are useless as Minidumps, since you'll need the entire Kernel Address Space.
Place the file into a zipped folder, and then upload to a file sharing site such as Dropbox or Skydrive, and then upload the folder into the Public folder of your account (Dropbox or Skydrive), post the URL of the file in your next post.Code:C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP
I got an additional computer freeze after reading your message. This caused me to reboot with the reset button, but before the OS finished loading all the startup programs it froze again. Here is my current dump configuration.
I was concerned that my computer wouldn't generate a dump file so I ran a program not my fault to generate a BSOD and after a computer reboot in my windows directory was the file memory.dmp. At least I know I'm not waiting for something that will never happen. After checking into how to upload to a public link in dropbox my mouse got erratic and then the web page disappeared and then the browser came back on. In my task bar there was a msg that my nvida driver had an error and has fixed itself(sorry don't remember the exact phase). I'm guessing I need to get the latest nvida drivers for my video card.
I upgraded my NVida drivers to the latest version. When I turned my computer on today I got a boot error. I used the Windows 7 install disc to repair the install as per the error msg instructions. Any idea why that happened? Should I wait to see if I have a BSOD or freeze before stressing the video card?
