    Periodic hang ups

Sorry for the terrible title, but there isn't much more to say.

This is my first time posting here, as I'm usually able to resolve my own computer issues, but this has me at a loss, so I'm turning to you guys to point me in the right direction.

About 2 or 3 days ago, I began to experience problems. Every so often, windows would become unresponsive, randomly. It could be playing a game, browsing internet or even shuffling through folders. The screen isn't locked, but nothing windows related would respond, and I knew a BSOD would be imminent. Attempting to open the task manager would have it hang up at "preparing security options", which would often have me resort to hard resetting my PC.

I'm added my specs to my profile. MSE, Malwarebytes and TDSSkiller have all come back clean (in safe mode and not).

I'VE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THIS ISSUE IN 34 MONTHS of owning this pc. I've kept it in good health, recently dusted it thinking it was perhaps overheating (peaks at about 41c).

I'll be very attentive to this post tonight, as this is currently making gaming almost unbearable as there's no forewarning before the hang up occurs.

Willing to post any logs or errors. The most recent BSOD error code was 0x000000F4.

Thank you in advance to whomever can help me out, i'm at a loss, and it's driving me crazy.

(Also, I wiped my D: drive entirely, and reformatted my C: (OS) twice already.)
