BSOD playing Fifa 14, streaming video (bccode 124)

In the last couple weeks, I have experienced the 0x00000124 bsod when streaming games and playing video games (fifa 14/skyrim/planetside 2). The Video card (twin frozr radeon hd 7850) is the newest component, and around a month or so ago I did reformat and install windows 7 ultimate in order to get it onto my larger drive I switched in from an external disk. The issue seems to occur after a bit of time, and sometimes I can get 3-5 soccer streams at a time without an issue until a bsod occurs, or after up to an hour on fifa 14.

attached is the log from the diagnostic tool. any help would be much appreciated. I'd love to not crash with a minute left in the MLS cup again.

    Hi siskoeva.

A stop 0x124 is usually a hardware error.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

    • Double click to open it.
    • Click this button only:
    • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

    Are you overclocking?
    Code:
      Processor Manufacturer AMD
      Processor ID 430f1000fffb8b17
Processor Version AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 970 Processor
      Processor Voltage 8fh - 1.5V
      External Clock 200MHz
      Max Speed 3500MHz
      Current Speed 3792MHz
As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings. Also set the BIOS to default, too.

Daemon and anything with sptd was delete a week ago as I had seen that had been a problem in other threads. uninstall was grey, so all good there.

I've got a 750w PC Power and Cooling 750W MK II Silencer. the calculator showed I'd need much much less than that.

    memcheck - no errors

    chkdsk - no bad sectors

reset cmos - this has helped. OC may have been the issue

gpu never went above 54c during furmark

cpu never went above 53c during prime95

I believe TurboV evo was the culprit. installed and probably accidentally ran it when I was setting everything up without spending any time on it or actually working to oc. I forgot to get back and run tests/tweak it as I had some work I needed to get done, and it went to the back of my mind.

I've run the tests you've asked and reset the clock to stock. that seemed to be the cause of the problem. I went ahead and ran skyrim, fifa 14, and saints row 4 for a little bit of time similar to when I'd hit my bsod, and then opened up about 20 video streams without any BSOD. seems like case closed, although I'll make sure to stress it some more tonight. Thank you very much!

Apparently it is a good news. If it starts causing issues again, let us know.
