    Random BSoDs, mostly while playing games

    So this PC that I started using recently has a problem with BSoDs with random driver/error codes that mostly happen while playing, but sometimes also while browsing the internet(maybe with youtube on). I can't replicate them in any way and they happen after around 30-60 minutes of playing a game, though sometimes faster.

    I don't think it's a bad driver because I remember this happening pretty much always since this PC was built, on different OS with different sets of drivers.
    I have no idea how to recognize if it's a PSU problem, but the PSU is probably a cheap one.

    EDIT: I logged temperatures before the crash happened, it's definitely not overheating.

    Hi mancowed.

    Your latest BSOD is caused by Wi-Fi Wireless LAN USB Adapter (c:\windows\system32\drivers\athrxusb.sys).
    Code:
    BugCheck 50, {ffffaa8800573666, 0, fffff8800523e4cb, 7}

    *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for athrxusb.sys
    *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for athrxusb.sys

    Could not read faulting driver name
    Probably caused by : athrxusb.sys ( athrxusb+3e4cb )

    Followup: MachineOwner
    ---------
    And the driver is extremely old.
    Code:
    fffff880`05200000 fffff880`05291000   athrxusb T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: athrxusb.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\athrxusb.sys
        Image name: athrxusb.sys
        Timestamp:        Fri Dec 22 17:35:49 2006 (458BCA1D)
        CheckSum:         0008ECE1
        ImageSize:        00091000
        Translations:     0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
    If possible, update the driver. Also plan to update the BIOS and chipset drivers. I am not very aware of MSI downloads, so failing to supply you the download links, but your motherboard is G31M3(MS-7528), the BIOS version is
    Code:
    BiosVersion = V3.5
    BiosReleaseDate = 03/12/2009
    Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

    • Double click to open it.
    • Click this button only:
    • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

    Let us know the results.

    Allright, I changed some drivers and so far I have been trying to get a bsod for about 3-4 hours. It's not quite telling anything yet, so I will keep going for another 1-2 days to make sure everything's fine and then I will post results.
