    BSOD since Nvidia update drivers

    Hi guys:

I'm having since last Nvidia drivers update. Before this update i'd cleaned every fan inside the cpu because there was too much dirt.
I checked if i connect everything right and i did. Then i uninstall these drivers and no more BSOD.
This week i give it a try one more time. First 3 or 4 days no BSOD, but yesterday and today i have 2 BSOD.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how can i solve it?

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Ignacio

PS: i upload my Sevenforum diagnostic and i run it from safe mode.

    Hi tanocapo.

The earliest BSOD (of 12/10/13) is a stop 0x116, which is a graphics related issue. And we have noniced that all nvidia display driver versions later of 314.22 WHQL are troublesome. Install the NVIDIA DRIVERS 314.22WHQL only.

    • Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features
      • 3D Vision Control Driver
      • 3D Vision Driver
      • Graphics Driver
      • HD Audio Driver
      • PhysX
      • nvidia Update

(Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
    • Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
    • Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

But, unfortunately, all the later BSODs (including that one of today) is a stop 0x124, which indicates some kind of hardware failure.

Seeing the BIOS date, I am assuming that the computer is more or less 5 years old? (no update to windows 7 is available in ASUS's site)
    Code:
    BiosVersion = 1203
    BiosReleaseDate = 06/25/2008
Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy.

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.

Let us know the results. Will take the further steps depending on those, if needed.

Well i just have another BSOD 0x124, i don't have anymore clues of what is affecting. My temperatures are ok (and i didn't do anything stressing like gaming or any other heavy working staff).
    Temps right now:
    cpu 36°-37°
    Mobo 32°
    Graphics 32°
    HDD sata1 31°
    HDD sata2 33°

And my PSU is a Cooler Master 650W (3 years of use) working fine.

    What could it be??

If you dont supply the information as it is asked, it will not be possible to proceed with troubleshooting.

Ok Archie maybe i forgot something.
    Tell you what i did:
    1.- I installed latest drivers 331.65 - didn't work.
2.- I controlled temperatures in normal use. The registries are in post #4. Now i attach a print screen from today.
3.- I checked my psu consumes in xtreme power supply. Even when my psu is 3 yo, my values are below the limits.
    Here are the figures:
    Minimum PSU Wattage: 461W
    Recommended PSU Wattage: 511W

3.- Today after a new BSOD i did a clean install following thread Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling and installing my last good driver 285.62

Please tell me if i miss something. It's my first time with this BSOD since Win 98.

40 minutes have passed now, and i didn't have any BSOD.

It is too cool for an old computer. Probably you clean the dusts on a regular basis?

285.62 is a good driver, undoubtedly. But is is somehow old. Was the situation the same even with 314.22 and 306.23?

Anyway, as it is working stable now, better you observe the situation, how it is going.

If the issue comes back, we will start with hardware testing.

I clean every month all peripherals. I use a can of compressed air mostly. The last time i cleaned up was on Oct 31st, and i desarm my PSU to clean its interior. Additionaly every fan has a filter to minimize the intake of dust.
For the time being, no BSOD so far!!
