Can't restart, error 7001 prominent in Eventvwr

Don't know why. I get to log on screen and all's well. Then just a lot of black after logging in, the bar on the bottom with the time and... that's it! I had to power off improperly and then start in safe mode w networking to downloaded a tool to collect information after reading up how to submit here. I'm sorry but I really don't understand it at all. Any help will be appreciated.

Try it: Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Click on the start button. Type .... msconfig in the search bar and hit enter. It will open the system configuration window, with the "general" tab selected.
  • Click the "startup" tab. Click "Disable all" > Apply > OK.
  • Click on "services" tab. Check the "Hide all Microsoft Services"; Click "Disable all" > Apply > OK
Then try to boot again normally. Is it failing still?

Let us know.

Hi. That's a good idea. But I restored the computer to a time before from safe mode and it now boots normally. But I will try this first if it happens. Is there any value in doing it now?

Doing a clean startup is always necessary, irrespective of there is any issue or not.

And, if the issue is really over, please mark the thread as solved.

Thanks. I didn't know which section to post it in. Where would have been best to post it? Please let me know and I'll mark it solved and open a new thread in a better place if it recurs.

If that issue recurs, you can start a new thread in either General Discussion or Performance & Maintenance

This is probably a very dumb error, but I have spent weeks on this (intermittently) and can't find the cause! :banghead: I figure one of you experts can probably zero in pretty quickly... This happens on my wife's machine, and actually most apps work great, except for WeatherEye, which...

My computer freezes every hour, to the minute, so checked Event Viewer. It is a sea of errors and warnings, nearly 1200 in the last 3 months. I know enough to be dangerous, but can all these problems be caused by one or a couple of things, or am in water so deep, I should just try reinstalling...

Random BSOD more prominent when under load with buzzing sound
Hi guys, I am a first timer at this forum, but I got nowhere else to ask. So basically, I built myself a new PC from scratch, ordered all the parts and everything. There is no chance of damage from static as I used a band when I assembled it. I've had it for a couple of months now and I have...
