Random Freezing Began Suddenly
I can't explain this one - suddenly out of nowhere I'm getting random freezing and I see my HD light frozen, requiring a hard reboot. The browser will freeze, a Word document freezes. Once that starts, the end begins and a total freeze occurs.
I did a chkdsk on all disks and it comes out fine. using SMART tests on all drives comes out OK. Using short tests on all drives comes out OK. The only one that made a difference was Crystal Disk Info and this is just a big guess. The "ratings" were a 95% for my C drive (an SSD that has been great.) One hard disk I use for data got a "Caution" and it's numbers seem worse than the good one:
Current / Worst / Threshold
Reallocated Sectors Count -- 95 95 5
Current Pending Sector Count 87 87 0
The good one was:
200 / 200 / 180
200 / 200 / 0
The only guess I can make is that perhaps this disk might be failing. But all the other programs seem to think it's fine and I'm still not sure why I'd get general freezes even when I'm not necessarily using that disk. Wondering the best way to troubleshoot this issue.
