And after following the 8024200d error instructions, I still come up with the same error.

Though my windows update was reset.

I'll be frank Windows Update is not my specialty so I can ask others to look at that particular problem
if you really want to . I'm more interested in the bug checks at the moment as they are 0x124
which are a hardware fault 98% of the time.

I dug around further and found another possible failure point.

Please remove;

AMD Overdrive; also in EasyTune6 for Gigabyte motherboard

Also remove any of Gigabyte's Utilities that may be installed .

Yeah I read those cause BSOD's about 2 days ago from another thread similar to mine, so I disabled AMD overdrive. I still got bluescreens after that though.

But you say the x124 stop error seems to be coming from the L1 cache read error meaning its the processor that may need replaced?
It just seems to make sense lately. I have already replaced the RAM, HDD, and motherboard in hopes it was one of the three. No luck.

Also errors with the processor/L1 cache might lead to failing updates? Correct me if i'm wrong. I'm not trying to be pushy, I just want to know if I need to buy a new processor or not.

Thank you SO MUCH once again for all of your help.

I figured it's a long shot as the errors are pretty consistent, but thought it's worth mentioning anyway.

Well when the heart of the system is is faulty I find it hard to believe that it will affect
only one specific part of the software as we see in your case Security Updates are failing
I would attribute that to Norton if I'll have to.

You're not pushy I understand you want to take advantage of black Friday , again my pleasure.

it might save you the long lines if nothing eles .
