Need help fixing a BSOD related to internet usage.

Can someone please help me fix this problem? I don't know what happened. I was connecting to the internet via a D-Link USB adapter (DWA-160) and the other night it simply stopped working and caused my PC to freeze up. Since then, I cannot get on the internet with the adapter and can only get on the internet briefly with an Ethernet cable before getting a BSOD. I get no BSOD's as long as I am not connected to the internet but as soon as I connect, the PC goes nuts.

What I've tried:

- Reinstalling my in-built network adapter several times through device manager.

- Reinstalling, uninstalling, reinstalling, etc of the stupid DLink USB adapter however the reinstall always failed even though Windows told me the drivers had been successfully installed.

- Ran many virus scans with MSE and ran many scans with MalwareBytes.

- I've updated my network adapter's driver.

- I've tried deleting the file that seemingly causes the BSOD (anodlwfx.dll, though other files seem to be at fault as well) but then I can't get on the internet at all.

- I used my windows 7 disk to do repairs.

- I tried a couple of different system restore points but can't stop the BSOD.

- I ran a memory test and check disk.

I feel like I'm going to need to reinstall Windows but I really don't want to do that... Also does anyone know what might have happened to cause this? I blame that USB adapter but I don't know why so much damage has occurred. I'm so confused.

It's always been nothing but smooth sailing with this PC til now.

All your BSODs are pointing to ANOD Network Security Filter driver, c:\windows\system32\drivers\anodlwfx.sys

You need to uninstall that program that is causing this driver.

Also, the ntework driver is old, too.

Update it from Realtek .... take the Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program dated 2013/9/24.

I would suggest you to uninstall MagicISO, as all such programs are problematic.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.

Let us know the results.

I installed that very Realtek driver already so I'm surprised it never updated. Maybe I since did a system restore...I'll do it again...thanks for noticing that. I cleaned up my startup programs as well, thank you.

I never installed ANOD Network Security. It must have come with the DLink wifi USB adapter - do you think? I wonder why it didn't uninstall when I uninstalled the adapter...

I found I can go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections and right-click Local Area Connection/Properties and select ANOD Network Security from the list and uninstall it. That's a relief. Still I wonder how it got there. I'm afraid to plug this DLink thing back in and try to use it.

If you have performed a system restore to an earlier point, the driver updates will be reverted. So get the update again.

ANOD/Alpha network sometimes got installed by DLink adapters. If the program is uninstalled, delete the driver in c:\windows\system32\drivers\anodlwfx.sys.

Let us know hoe th computer is running after doing those.
