BSOD during sleep, restart and shutdown. Error 0x000009x

    Hi guys,

I posted a couple weeks ago on here about an issue with my new laptop which luckily you were able to solve within a very short time, so I thought I would try again.
I no longer have any issues of BSOD during use of my laptop, but when I shut the lid for it to sleep, or sometimes during an attempted restart the BSOD occurs.

Attached are the files from the diagnostic tool!

On a non BSOD related note. My laptop has the intel(r) centrino(r) advanced-n 6235 wireless chipset in it which drops out and disables itself regularly. A potential fix I found on the internet was to roll back the drivers to a much earlier one, however the driver for this device was what caused the original BSODs which are now solved. Any guidance on this?

    Thanks a lot,
    PEter

    Hi pbrownless :).

    I'm afraid I have some bad news :\ .
Your description in the second paragraph along with the most recent dump (and it's consistent
among the rest of them for that matter) leads me to believe that you might have a defected hardware.
The bug checks are all 0x9F which is DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE that happens in
transitions between power states most commonly S0 (ON state) > S3 (Sleep state)
or vice-verse. You can read more HERE.

The most common cause is a device driver but sometimes it's the hardware itself
    that is at fault.
Just by looking at the unloaded modules, we see the problematic NETwsw00.sys and a hibernation
driver which are both inline with you original post, given that you had troubles in the past regarding
this driver/hardware and that it is recently misbehaving in general i would consider an RMA if that is an option.

    Hi Yoyo,

Thanks for your quick reply, that is very bad news if it is indeed a hardware issue!
I have to apologise as Im not in the know on these things, what is an RMA?

I have been searching for solutions to the 6235 wireless chipset, and the problems I am experiencing seem very widespread. Some have suggested that a fix is to roll back the drivers to one which was an earlier version than I ever had on my laptop. However I am not sure whether to do this due to the old driver I had which was causing the BSOD during regular use. Do you think it would be worth rolling back the drivers to check if it is a fix? Then it is at least a solution to the wireless problem, if not the BSOD on sleep?

    Thanks,
    Pete

I hate being the bearer of bad news .

No need to apologize, an RMA is Return merchandise authorization.
Of course it's worth a shot, it can't get any worst in my opinion.

    Thanks again Yoyo,

Bad news is better than my constant confusion as to why things arent working!
Will try the driver rollback and get in touch with the company I bought it from.
