My Windows is installed like in the image. Could the problem have been trying to install something else? Before I got an official Windows 7, I got one of those specific reinstall for my computer tower from the company. One of those ones that are very specific and ended up not working, as my old HDD was running Windows Vista. I think traces of it is still on this HDD from when I attempted to reinstall it but it failed.
To better help us to help you would you please add your systems specs? Here's the correct way to do it. :SystemInfo See Your System Specs Under System Manufacturer/Model Number add whether it is a desktop or laptop and whether self built. Very important
Log in to Seven Forums and you will be able to transfer the info directly to the specs page in your profile from within the System Info app.
Your System Specs here.
After doing this your specs will be available in each of your posts.
Click on My system Specs in the lower left of this post to see how it should look.:)
Full instructions are in the tutorial.
One way to find out would be to try and install MSE. If there are any problems with your present operating system. It will not install.
The problem you are describing with the specific reinstall could be a problem with the OEM_SLP Key used by the Company? And your changing the operating system (OS) and Hard Disk Drive (HDD) manufacturer.
- Is this "Company" where you work?
- Did you purchase one of their old machines that they no longer wanted or needed?
- The SLIC table may be locked to their specific; Computer supplier (HP), the OS (Vista) and HDD manufacturer. In that case you may have to contact the Company for help or you might be able to call Microsoft and explain your situation, surprisingly, they can be pretty understanding. Activation and registration information of a Microsoft product
But please. First, follow Britton's request to use the system specs tool to fill out your system specs, it does make it much easier to help you.
