Page fault in non paged area BSOD?

    Page fault in non paged area BSOD?


    Just now I got a BSOD saying PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. It happened when I was restarting because of a Windows update.

    Welcome to Seven Forums Zunedge.

    This is caused by trying to write to memory instead of the page file on the drive. It is many times just a transient problem and doesn't come back, or that has been my experience.

    To be on the safe side follow through with this:
    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

    Okay thanks I'll run the memtest!

    Remember to do the full 7-8 passes, it may take several hours.
    Please follow this: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions and add the results to this thread, I've asked the BSOD Team to have a look, I don't do the dmp reading. :)
