Blue Screens into a POST-failing state
I made my initial post in the General Discussion subforum, and I started it in hope that I would have more option the next day, and assess the situation from there. Brink did move it to this subforum, but I don't think he realised that I was just asking for pretty general information just to get my computer to pass POST, and then assess the BSoD issues, so my apologies if this is still considered double-posting, but I obviously didn't have the computer with the correct information to compose a BSoD thread.
I'd left the computer without power for ~5 days, removed 1 of my 2, 4GB DIMMs. It passes POST, ran System Repair without a System Restore and got Windows to run in a functional state. I've now just used Macrium Reflect to restore an OS System Image to a point prior to the issue, with the help of Wolfgang, and here we are.
Attachment 300595Code:Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 2057 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 1e BCP1: FFFFFFFFC0000005 BCP2: FFFFF800036CF62D BCP3: 0000000000000000 BCP4: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF OS Version: 6_1_7601 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 256_1
Prior to the System Restore, I ran chkdsk and it reported 'volume bitmap is incorrect, Windows found problems with the file system'. That's persisted through to this system image.
