    0xf4 randomly appearing.

I have had this problem for a long time now, and I have tried what I can to prevent it from happening, but to no success..

I get the 0xf4 BSOD both when I am using the computer and when I am not using it. I can see no connection/patterns between the BSOD’s so it bugs me terribly. The frequents of the BS is very random, and I am thinking it might be my hard drive. Just before I get the 0xf4 BS some programs start to freeze, and it can take up to 1 min before the PC stops and it freezes when the 0xf4 is showing so it does not write dump files… When I try to restart the PC using the power switch, it just gives med 0xe3 error message; corrupt/damaged winload file and I have to disconnect the power supply to get it to work. I have changed every hardware in my computer last summer, except my hard drive and RAM. I have tried to Google this problem, but there seem to be many errors connected to the 0xf4 BSOD. I have no problems with the PC elsewhere what so ever, so I hope I can get this really annoying problem out of my world xD

Thanks for taking you time reading this

    Best regards

If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:
    • SSD firmware
    • BIOS Version
    • Chipset Drivers
    • Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
    • If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.

Hey and thanks for fast response!

    I have tried the following:

Disk Check on my Hard Drive, found some errors that couldn’t be fixed :/

    Reduced items at start-up

    Updated all drivers

    Installed all windows updates

    Run SFC

    Scanned with Kaspersky

    I have not:

Updated SSD firmware, there is no new update for my SSD.

Could not find updates for BIOS, Chipset and SATA drivers… Any hint to how I can find this things for my hardware? :P

I have been using my computer active without turning it off in nearly 2 days now without any problems, so I hope some of the things I did helped! I will write a new replay in a couple of days if I get a new BSOD

Thank you for fast response and super good help!

    Best regards!
