bsod during vmware caused by ntoskrnl

I have a family computer and it's been performing bsod issues. It tends to happen when my son is using vmware (virtual machine). We don't play pc games at all, thankfully this hasn't happened when I'm running ableton live (computer music software). I've downloaded blue screen view and three bug check codes come up, on the same day. I don't know much about computers, so I'll leave it to the experts here.
