BSOD randomly - hal.dll+1db07

Receiving BSOD randomly for quite a while now. I haven't had much success tracking down a solution and thought I would ask the experts . Thanks!

Hi davemah1.

The BSOD is caused by a CPUz driver. Do you have Cupid CPUz installed? I am not finding.
Code:
BugCheck A, {2030f870, f, 1, fffff8000361ab07}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for cpuz136_x64.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for cpuz136_x64.sys
Probably caused by : cpuz136_x64.sys ( cpuz136_x64+1ff2 )

Followup: MachineOwner
---------
Most interesting part is, the location of the failing module.
Code:
fffff880`065b4000 fffff880`065bd000 cpuz136_x64 T (no symbols)
    Loaded symbol image file: cpuz136_x64.sys
    Image path: \??\C:\Windows\TEMP\cpuz136\cpuz136_x64.sys
    Image name: cpuz136_x64.sys
    Timestamp: Sat Oct 27 22:54:41 2012 (508C18D9)
    CheckSum: 0000F097
    ImageSize: 00009000
    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
C:\Windows\TEMP is not a regular location of the temp, and disc cleanup tool will not clean it up.

Close all applications. Then delete all the contents of this folder. Theoretically it should not be there and will not cause any issue.

Also, though I may be wrong, but as I am not finding that program as installed, but still the driver is causing the issue, better you scan the system for possible virus infection with the following programs, at least for a safety reason.
Finally, take a stress test. Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Let us know the results.

Thanks Arc. I can't find CPUz installed either. Per your instructions, I've deleted the contents of the TEMP folder, run TDSSKiller (clean), WDO (clean), and Prime95:
  • Torture Test completed 135 tests in 3 hours, 14 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings
  • Torture Test completed 132 tests in 3 hours, 14 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings

I also deleted the registry entry that referred to C:\Windows\TEMP\cpuz136\cpuz136_x64.sys

Is there any way to find out what program/service called the C:\Windows\TEMP\cpuz136\cpuz136_x64.sys entry?

I guess now I just wait to see if the BSOD returns, right?

Very good to know that the CPU stress test passed well.

Driver Reference Table - cpuz136_x64.sys

But as CPUz is not installed, how can it be present there in the system? So I thought of a virus, as they can take any disguise.

Yes. Wait and observe how it goes.
