Windows 7: Screen Freezes a lot - Using Disability Options

Screen Freezes a lot - Using Disability Options

Hope someone can help. I use Disability Options for Mouse Control & Shift, Ctrl, Alt clicks etc [severely disabled, no option]. I was using the Ultimate Win7 latest RC ok to test it, didn't have many problems.

I've now formatted & installed the Final version of Win7 32bit Premium version but am having to press the reset button at least a few times per day - still installing my progs. The only thing I was concerned about was my Nvidia FX5200 [256mb] AGP card but MS Update loaded a driver. I wanted the Aero display and it seemed ok but I've reverted to Win7 Basic display. Still got windows freezing when doing something simple like pinning Firefox to taskbar.

Has anybody any hints about how to fix this. I've got Event ID 41 Kernel Power in the event viewer a few times. I seem to have the latest drivers for everything. It was really fine with the RC candidate and XP Pro was smooth [I don't want to revert but maybe I should consider it] Has this Win7 been fully tested with disability options?

Any tips or hints would be welcome. Thanks.

I have the same problem. Only difference is I do not use Disability Options and my FX 5200 is 128 MB.

Any help would be appreciated

Win7 Final - 32 bit

Sorry I can't advise as I tried another Nvidia card [6600] 250mb but sadly my power supply wasn't able to run it. I gave up and installed Win7 on another comp with a 7600Gt card and no problems have reappeared. Hopefully someone in this forum will help you find an answer!

I was having that same exact issue and triedupdating the nVidia display driver, which may the problem go away fo three days. But, alas, the kernel-power messages came back when the screen went black and locked up the PC.

This time I had the case open and saw what happened. The PSU stoppred, all fans inside came to halt at the same time. Power supply failure. Bingo, time for a new PSU.

I've solved the issue with a different way of installing 96.85 driver. See my other forum topic And I unplugged my CDROM and CDRW. Maybe this helped with PSU capability...

And I am still cautious about this. I hope the problem won't come back again
