    Seemingly random BSODs not resolved by reinstalling Windows


    Hi,
    I've had problems with my laptop crashing seemingly at random for a while now (for more than a year); there was a period without much trouble but recently it's gotten worse.

    After a particularly bad crash Windows was stuck on the 'Starting Windows' so I backed up my files using Ubuntu running off a USB and used the partition in my hard drive to reinstall Windows a couple of days ago. Since then I've had two crashes so far, both occurred while browsing the web and there was nothing strange going on immediately before the crash. Once the computer reboots it always says 'missing operating system' as well then once I restart it everything seems to be working okay till it crashes again.

    The first didn't specify anything more than error codes and the second said PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

    I've attached two pictures of the blue screen and also the DM Log Collector file.

    Are you able to boot into windows at all weather it is via Safe mode? I would like to ask you to fill in your system specs completely so we can see what your specs are to better help you resolve your issue.

    Hi,
    Yes Windows is currently working as normal except for when it crashes.

    I run a Lenovo G570 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    Intel i3 2350-M CPU
    4GB RAM

    The laptop is roughly 2 years old now. Is there anything I have omitted? Thanks for the reply.

    So here is what i found with the error that your getting on your BSOD. 0X00000050 usually occurs after the installation of faulty hardware or in the event of failure of installed hardware (usually related to defective RAM. I would like to get you run a memory check your ram. To run a memory check please following the instruction if you are sure how to do so.

    1. Open Memory Diagnostics Tool by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type Memory, and then click Diagnose your computer's memory problems.* Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. Choose when to run the tool.

    Hi RitualJMan,
    I ran the Memory Diagnostics and when I logged in again I just got a pop up saying 'no memory errors were detected.'
    Could it be possible that the problem is only triggered by certain things and as such is not showing up during the test?
