Okay I have now installed a legit version of Windows 7 64bit but I am having some real trouble getting my internet to work, the driver causing it is the Realtek PCIe gbe family controller and it gets a code 10 cannot start, I have tried latest versions, old versions and even the ones from the support disc (these have worked on all previous occasions) I have done countless clean installs of Windows but it still fails to install the driver software. Any Help or suggestions? Also I know this is not the place to post it but maybe you guys have encountered the same error or know someone who has and can assist me.

Download the Lan drivers from Asus website for your board Motherboards - Z87-K put in your os type for drivers and tools.

Once you get internet access, please run this again Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions

Go to device manager and expand network adapters, right click it and select properties, go to the driver tab and select update driver and let it search the internet for a driver. If that does not work, select from my computer and guide it to the driver you downloaded from Asus. and see if it will accept that one (I'm not sure but if it does not take it, try extracting it and do the same thing directing it to the extracted folder). It is also possible that your lan is bad too.

Also, if you didn't extract the driver and run the set up it wouldn't have worked for you. If you didn't extract it, try that and then try to install it from the extracted folder. If that's the case, try that first.

It just says that the driver is up to date, and as for the bad LAN, I am using the exact same setup as earlier today before the legit windows 7 install..

Have you rebooted after the install? Try that. If you have the correct driver installed and it still won't start, there has to be a problem somewhere else.

Could it be service pack 1? It has to be windows as nothing else has changed except that.

Other than the lan itself, I can think of nothing other than a Windows update that messed it up. I wouldn't think SP 1 did it. Go through your update history and see if any of the updates were for a Lan or internet driver. You can uninstall it. First, go back to device manager and try to "Roll Back Driver" see if that works.
