Kernel Power event 41 - SF attached
Hi all,
A few days my PC started to reboot on randomly basis. Sometimes it reboots, sometimes goes to hibernate and doesn't awake.
Any idea? Here's the attached file

Hi There, I've uninstalled Symantec and I've replaced it with Windows Security Essentials. I've also uninstalled ASRock App Charger. The same problems. However, now it's more frequent and it's almost unusable. Sometime it goes to hibernate (I assume it's hbernate becaus keyboard and mouse light's are on) and never wakes up. Sometimes does it a few seconds into windows what makes almost impossible to do anything (including following your ideas). It also happens on safe mode. Lastly yesterday started to freeze on bios splash screen. Could this be related to the PSU? Mine is only 350W if that matters Any thoughts?

Have you made any Software or Hardware changes recently? Was there some program you installed just before this started or did you work on the inside of the computer? Please go into BIOS and look at your Sata Controller to see what it is set to (IDE, AHCI RAID) also look at your ram timings, frequency and Dram Voltage and tell me what they are set to. In BIOS please tell me the reading of your +12V, +5V and +3.3V. Please download and install, if you don't already have it, CPUz. Please post screenshots(Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums) of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory and SPD tabs. On the SPD tab, select the dimm slots that are populated using the dropdown box at the top left. Is there anything else you could tell us about when it happens such as when running a certain program or performing a certain function? To answer your question, yes it could be caused by the PSU. But, it could also be caused by any number of things. Also, please remember we cannot see and hear your computer so we have to depend on you to be our eyes and ears. So, please be as specific as possible when telling us what is happening. Thank you! ok this is where I'm at. The PC has become unresponsive for a few days. I would turn it on and get no video signal. Everything would seem normal (no beep, but this build never did beep) just no video signal, no bios splash screen. Sometimes I would get BIOS Splash screen but it stayed there forever, frozen.
Yesterday I pulled out my HTPC and tried with other PSU: same result (meanwhile this PSU died, so my HTPC hasn't got any PSU for the moment, but I guess is non related). Tried also with different sets of Ram and nothing. Cleared CMOS and would always get no video signal.
This morning, once again, I removed RAM blow it up and also on the slots. Surprisingly, I did get Video signal and was able to go into the bios and disabled Cool n Quiet along with some settings that seem suspicious (power saving, power on, etc).
Now, I'm on Windows for a couple of hours and didn't get any BSOD, shutdown or reboot [into darkness].
I'm guessing those are hardware related, probably because of some RAM or RAM slots issue. Could it be because those are 1.65V? They are motherboard compatible [supposedly].
The Sata controler is, at this moment, IDE but I've used it on AHCI because of my SSD. I'l try to go into the bios and read those values, but I'm afraid this goes into the "no video signal again". I'm not quite sure what I'm saying but would guess "timings, frequency and Dram Voltage" are all in auto mode (I've not overclocked anything - don't know so I don't mess around.

Most computers will not boot in both IDE and AHCI mode, meaning you can't switch back and forth. Reseating the ram appears to have fixed your problem. You need to be in AHCI mode for your SSD. This will tell you how to switch if you change to AHCI mode in BIOS and your computer won't boot. If it doesn't boot after you change to AHCI in bios, don't worry, just change it back to IDE and it should boot fine. Then follow this tutorial to change to AHCI AHCI : Enable in Windows 7 / Vista
If you have a case speaker, connect it so you will get beeps, which are important. Your motherboard manual will tell you where to connect it. It is usually 2 pins very close to the front panel connections on the board and are usually labeled 'speaker'.
What I would like you to try, is go into bios and set it to optimized defaults (F5 on most boards, but check yours). Then set your ram. I don't know what options you have but I always set mine manually so I know exactly how it is set(Control Freak, LOL). Frequency should be set to 1600 (set to 1066 now), the first 4 timings should be 9-9-9-24(they are at 8-8-8-20 now) and CR to 2T. Set the Dram Voltage to 1.65V. Set the sata controller to AHCI and the boot order as it is now. Save and exit. See if it has any problems, but I would like you to run memtest86+ for a full 8 passes. It takes 8 passes all at one time to fully test the ram. It is best run overnight as it will take quite a few hours to run 8 complete passes. If you get errors, stop the test. This is the tutorial and will give you a link to download the right test as well as how to run it. I have had the newest version cause me problems so I use the older 4.20 version but you can try the 5.01 if you like. Let us know the results.

Well, despite of seeing the speaker connection on the MOBO I guess my case doesn't support it! Is that possible? (Nox Core) The only thing sound related I see is a cable: HD Audio and then AC 97. Neither seem the right connection to the speaker on the MOBO.
After yesterday I was on for several hours a general power breakdown put it to sleep and after that I got video only once. On that occasion, I realized the Bios settings that I had previously saved were lost and back to default - that includes the graphic settings that goes to PCI express. However I have only on board graphic. Can that be the problem?
Then I've changed again the settings also the ones you've told me to and after I've hit save and exit. It rebooted but no video signal again.
Since then I've been trying power it on always with no success. Meanwhile, I've change the CMOS battery, reseated the RAM.
This must to be hardware but I'm getting crazy!

What type cable are you using to connect to your monitor? VGA?
You have Front Panel audio connector and a speaker connection if you have a mobo speaker. See #13 and #25

Advanced > Northbridge > Primary Graphics Adapter, set it to onboard
you will also have the option to enable or disable HDMI sound. Disable it unless you use it. Page 42

Be sure to install the needed drivers especially the video driver for your on board video and the chipset Driver. These drivers on the internet will be much more current than the ones on your disk.
Do you have another hard drive or can you borrow one and try a clean install? Have you run Memtest86+?

Yes,I'm using VGA cable. I have tried HDMI on a TV. Same result.
So, should I connected on #13 instead of #25?
I have at some point made those changes on the BIOS, but lately, once there's a reboot, they go back to default.
I'll follow your instructions and can try a fresh install, but at this point I have no image on screen being that the main issue.
