    BSOD Randomly Occuring, error 0x0000003B

I have just recently finished building my pc. However, I have been consistently getting a blue screen. It has occured while playing games or just recently, from a browser. I have ran RAM tests and hard drive checks and everything turned out well. I also have updated my graphics card driver just recently today. I installed all my drivers only about 3 days ago so it should all be up to date. I have gotten all the important windows updates as well.

Also, I am not sure if this is related, but sometimes while gaming the game just crashes randomly. Other games are fine while some just crash in the middle. Sometimes the game just crashes and sometimes I get the BSOD. Please help!!! I (have also checked the temperatures of pc and everything seems to be okay and not overheating)

My pc specs (just in case it might help):

    AMD fx 6300 (not overclocked)

    msi radeon r9 270 gaming 2gb

    600w corsair cx psu

    asus m5a97 R2.0 motherboard

    crucial ballistix 8gb RAM

Western digital caviar blue 1tb hdd

    Thanks!!!!

    Hi BanjoDrummer.

Uninstall your installed version of the display driver.

Then clean up any possible leftover.

Then install version 13.9 WHQL only.

Lately we have seen a lot of issues with the latest 13.12 WHQL AMD Catalyst.

When the suggested driver is applied, stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

    Let us know the results.

Hello! Thanks for responding! I uninstalled the graphics driver and downloaded the one your provided but when I tried to use furmark I got this message: "FurMark requires an OpenGL 2.0 compliant graphic controller.Starupfaile.
NVIDIA GeForce 6 and higher (with the latest Forceware drivers) or ATI Radeon X1000 and higher (with the latest Catalyst drivers) are good choice!" I think this is because I need the latest catalyst driver.

I have also encountered some problems after installing the AMD graphics driver you provided. Every game I tried has had problems and can't run. Some say that I don't meet the minimum requirements even though I do and some just show errors and say that I am missing something or am using an outdated driver. Some of these games ran perfectly fine before this.

I also don't see my graphics card listed in device manager. I believe it used to be there, but now it only says standard vga graphics adapter. Did I do something wrong?

You do not have any Driver Installed for your Graphics .. That is why it is showing as Standard VGA .. suggest you Install the Driver Arc Suggested and let us know how that works ...

I can understand your frustration ... One more try please ...

left click device manger , left click display adapters
right click the standard vga adapter, left click update driver software

    .left click browse my computer

.left click let me pick from a list of device drivers

if show all harware appears choose display adapters then click next

if show all hardware does not appear simply click have disk

browse to c:\ ati or c:\amd folder that was created when you first tried to install catalyst program.

browse to display driver folder inside the amd or ati folder and open the .inf file

click ok if correct driver is not showing untick show compatible hardware and choose

the correct driver then click next.

A new amd driver just came out (14.4) so I am going to download it and see if it helps. I reinstalled the original driver I had (13.12) and haven't had any blue screens so far but some games still continue to crash. If the new driver 14.4 doesn't fix these problems, then I will once again try to use 13.9.

    I really appreciate your help
