How did you 'remove' it in the first place?
If you type in the software in the start menu does anything come up?

Try downloading CCleaner and see if there are any registry entries left over CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

You could try doing the following How to manually remove programs from the Add or Remove Programs tool

       Warning

You must make sure you don't delete the wrong registry entries as it can't severely effect the system!
I advise that you backup the registry just in case.
    Here's some instructions.

i updated it from the link you provided. then i uninstalled it in remove programs. The only thing that comes up with GEAR is in System32 folder.

i "scanned for issues" and it said i had 909 entries that needed to be fixed so i did that. Run cleaner says it will permanently delete files from my computer. should i run this as well?

well i already ran the ccleaner and it fixed whatever errors, this shouldn't affect anything should it?

and what file/s do i need to backup in the registry editor?

That depends what CCleaner actually fixed.

You need to read the instructions.
You go to the registry editor and click export, then save that file somewhere on your computer so if something does go wrong you can click import and restore your settings.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

step 6 im a little confused.

the "UNINSTALL" folder does not contain the program GEAR. [[BUT it does show up under the "SOFTWARE" folder]]

**sorry im a newb to this registry editor**

You should be able delete that program called GEAR in software.
Make sure you've backed up the whole registry, assuming you have then you can delete it.

You should be able to find the program in the uninstall section.
You need to look at the display name on the right hand side, then keep going down the folders until you find the correct one.

Don't bother with that registry, if you have iTunes installed that driver gets installed with that too.

While that driver is being pointed to, so is a windows driver which is not the actual cause,

    Code:
    BugCheck 1000009F, {4, 258, fffffa80023fd660, fffff800045184d0}

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\GEARAspiWDM.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for GEARAspiWDM.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for GEARAspiWDM.sys
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for win32k.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for win32k.sys
    Probably caused by : memory_corruption

    Followup: memory_corruption
You could uninstall iTunes but that may or may not cause another known issue.

Since the probably caused by is memory corruption, try testing your ram,

    MemTest86+

Run a minimum of 8 passes, preferably overnight, or until errors occur using MemTest86+.
