    BSOD Error 0x000000F4

Hello, I would like some help resolving my BSOD error 0x000000F4 that I've been getting a couple of times per a week ever since I built my computer about a year ago.

I've done memory tests and hard drive tests to try and fix it, but so far nothing as worked.

I uploaded the log from the DM Log collector.

Just a note in case this helps... My computer gets BSOD twice in a row sometimes when I just turn on my computer and get to desktop for a couple of secs. And it seems to happen that way very often, but it also happens randomly after I've been using the computer for several hours or even a day.

Any help would be great and I'll be checking this thread every couple of mins while I'm playing Guild Wars 2

    Hi Artekis.

First uninstall Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller.

Next, Get rid of intel rapid storage. First uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Then Uninstall the driver from device manager.

    1. Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
    2. It will open the "computer management" window.
    3. Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
    4. Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
    5. Select one Intel device item under it, right click, uninstall.
    6. Continue the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
    7. Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.

Next, test your HDD using Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows.

And post a screenshot of the HDD using CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World

    Let us know the results.

Hiya Arc, I uninstalled Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller and intel rapid storage technology. And just for the sake of knowing in the future, what did those two things do?

I used the Data lifeguard diagnostic for windows to test my HDD, and it passed both the quick and extended tests after about 2 hours.

One new device that appeared is "WDC WD1001FALS-00Y6A0 ATA Device" after I uninstalled intel rapid storage technology. What does that do ?

And I made sure to attach the screenshot of my HDD specs using the CrystalDiskInfo.

And I didn't get a BSOD yet, but it could take a couple of days to know for sure.

    What should we do now?

    Both are storage controllers.
The Marvell one is the SCSI/RAID controller which you dont need plus Marvell is the worst storage controller.
The Intel (Rapid Storage) is the AHCI controller; which is often problematic.
Why we uninstalled those? I am answering it later. :)

Very good news! It makes it sure that the HDD is not failing itself.

That is what we wanted. Now your storage controller is set to msahci, the system native AHCI controller. It never fails.
And, that is why we uninstalled the previously applied two, to activate the msahci.sys.

Checked it. It looks good. :)

Now observe how the computer is running. Give it a reasonable time to arrive at any decision; but if it BSODs again, let us see the data again. :)
