    Random BSOD, error 0x0000004e

Been having this problem for several weeks now. Computer will be running fine and then suddenly BSOD. Seems like its a different error code each time, but I didn't see the first few because I had automatic restart selected and it didn't give me enough time to read them. I recently tried to use driver verifier to check if it was a driver causing the BSOD and it wouldn't let me run windows so had to disable it. Help would be awesome!

    Hi abstractthought.

Update the AMD chipset drivers from Support & Drivers .... the drivers available with ASrock is very old.

    Let us know the result.

Well I have gone 3 days with no BSOD, then it happened again last night. My children were watching netflix and bam, BSOD. Error code 0x00000119. I have updated windows, updated avast anti-virus and done a full scan, used cc cleaner to defrag. I'm at my wits end here! Thank you for helping me and others with this forum, you have no idea how much it means to be able to go to someone for help with this!

Now it is a different BSOD. A stop 0x119, that is a display/graphics failure.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.
    eXtreme Power Supply Calculator
Also let us know the wattage of the PSU.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

As the display driver is the latest, I am not suggest you to altering it right now; but it might be needed later, depending on the situation.

So let us know the results.

Ok, it has been a long time but suddenly I am having the same problem again. Random BSOD's at times that seem to have no connection with each other. Already updated windows, and avast. Ran a full system scan with avast and windows defender. Please help me once again!

You should have replied after following the suggestions. See the "Please Note" below the quick reply box.

I am having the same problem again.
And apparently it is not the same problem. They look the same blue, but the issues are very different. This time it is a memory issue. Either the RAM is failing or any driver is passing bad information to the memory.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

If it does not show any error, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

       Information
    Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

       Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

       Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Ran memtest, no errors. Followed the instructions for driver verifier and immediate BSOD when I restarted to enable DV. Then my PC would not do anything when I tried to power it on. Ended up clearing CMOS and got it started. Then while trying to copy over the dump files using SF Diagnostic had another BSOD. Here is the sf zip file. Hope someone can figure it out. Thank you so much for this.

The crash dump is not a driver verifier enabled one.

Disable Logitech, Skype and PeerBlock from startup and try DV again.

Disabled Skype, Logitech and PeerBlock from startup, enabled DV, still had immediate BSOD.

usbfilter.sys is a part of your chipset driver. Update it from AMD Chipset Drivers ..... get the AMD Chipset Drivers only.

Also, just wanting a clarification again .... have you ran memtest86+ for at least 8 passes before deciding that RAM is not the problem? Asking, because there is the reason ......
