    BSOD Ntoskrnl.exe

    Greetings.

Firstly, thank you in advance for any help I receive with my problems. I am not exactly the most computer savvy person and these blue screens are beginning to get me worried.

I have attached the file created by the DM log collector as requested.

With regards to the BSOD. I am unable to replicate exactly what causes the crash. They are totally random from my pc being idle, to watching video and gaming. My error codes are mostly 0x0d1, but I have also had 0x01e, 0x01a and a few more. However 99% of the errors point to notoskrnl.exe+75bc0.

With the small amount of research my tech knowledge can sustain, Im in the understanding that it might be a corrupted driver somwhere so I ran SlimDrivers. This came back with multiple updated including pci/usb chipsets and prosessor drivers. Is it possible to run these updates without affecting my overclock?

Let me know if any further information is needed. Thanks again for any help.

    Hi Ken,

You have dump files going back for a year, I just went through the last few and you are right about it being driver related.

We don't recommend using any driver programs since they can often give you incorrect drivers and are usually hard to get rid of what else they bring with them.

I see your display driver pointed to a couple times,

    Two different versions as well,

    Code:
    0: kd> lmvm nvlddmkm
    start end module name
    fffff880`08465000 fffff880`08f4a000 nvlddmkm T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: nvlddmkm.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\nvlddmkm.sys
        Image name: nvlddmkm.sys
        Timestamp: Fri Jun 21 02:06:16 2013 (51C41788)

    Code:
    start end module name
    fffff880`0f403000 fffff880`1005b000 nvlddmkm T (no symbols)

    Try using a different driver,

NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 334.89 Driver WHQL

Do a clean install of the display driver.

    • Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features
      • 3D Vision Control Driver
      • 3D Vision Driver
      • Graphics Driver
      • HD Audio Driver
      • PhysX
      • nvidia Update

(Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
    • Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
    • Install the driver again. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

    This may help as well,

    NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems

I also see your usb3 driver being flagged,

    Code:
    fffff880`0706a000 fffff880`0712f000 iusb3xhc T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: iusb3xhc.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\iusb3xhc.sys
        Image name: iusb3xhc.sys

You can update that from here,

Let us know how things go from there.

    Hi Derekimo.

Thanks for your response, it was extremely helpful. I apologise for posting such old minidumps files. I simple did not have the know-how to target just a recent batch using the program that collected the data. However, all the BSODs Ive recieved have gone unfixed so it was nice of you take look at them.

They stared off slowly with just 1 or 2 a month but have recently ramped up recenetly to 2 to 3+ a day.

I did the 2 steps you suggested.

My Intel USB eXtensible Host Controller Driver is now updated to version 1.0.10.255.

Uninstalling my video drivers cleanly was a challenge as after I would restart my system [even in safe mode], windows would automatically reinstall all of the Nvidia drivers I just uninstalled. This was with the device/printers - device installation settings - no let me chose option enabled. I think I finally managed it with the only nvidia drivers showing in my programs and features is NVIDIA Graphic Drivers 334.89 and NVIDIA PhysX System Software [which was installed with the 334.89 display drivers].

I will keep you informed on how the changes work out. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Greetings.

After the changes suggested my system went an entire day without a BSOD - which was a significant improvement over the previous days of multiple blue screens.

Unfortunately I just received another one.

Hopefully I have just uploaded the only most recent log and not the full batch like last time.

    Thanks again for any help.

    Hi there,

I guess it doesn't like that driver either,

    Code:
Unable to load image nvlddmkm.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys
     nvlddmkm+0x8e34
Let's try the same method with this one,

    http://www.nvidia.com/download/drive...px/59641/en-us

I just noticed you have Daemon tools installed too, that is known to cause problems, can you uninstall that.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause of BSOD's.

    1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.
    2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
    - Double click the executable to open it
    - Click the button shown below

If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.

Have you scanned for virus and malware?

I suggest scanning with your AV and Malwarebytes free https://www.malwarebytes.org/

Update them and run full scans to eliminate that possibility.

Another note, you don't need that slimdriver program, they usually cause more problems than they are worth.

    Greetings.

Hope you had a good weekend.

Thanks again for the above help. I followed your instructions minus the further rollback of my display driver. I removed daemon-tools and slim-drivers. Did a full virus/maleware inc rootkit scan with Avast and Malewearbytes.

I have attached the handful of dump files for crashes I got with these changes.

I have now also installed the 314.22 NVIDIA Display Drivers as suggested and will keep you posted.

May I ask, If I can find my windows disc that came with my rig purchase, would it be worth reinstalling windows? I am not very tech savvy and because I have an overclock and 2 drives, inc an SSD - im not 100% sure I can do it without ruining something - however if it would lead to a full fix of my problems, I will consider it.

    Thanks.

Let's save the clean install for a last resort, although I like your thinking, a fresh start usually fixes a lot of things.

Of your last four dumps, two were inconclusive as far as drivers, one is with the previous Nvidia driver 334.89.

    One was an Avast driver,

    Code:
Unable to load image \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\aswSnx.SYS, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for aswSnx.SYS
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for aswSnx.SYS
     aswSnx+0x57d2
    For now let's uninstall Avast,

avast! Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for avast! Removal

And install MSE, which we know doesn't cause BSOD's,

Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

Then see how things go with the 314.22 driver and let us know if any other crashes happen.

    Greetings.

    Just a quick update.

I have now uninstalled Avast and installed MSE as suggested. I have attached a dump file of a crash that happened before this change - but after I had installed the 314.22 driver. I have uploaded it even tho the Avast change wasn't actioned just in case it holds important information.

Since the MSE and 314.22 change, I've gone roughly 20 hours of online time without a bsod. I will keep you posted with any changes.

I'd also like to take a moment to thank you for the awesome support Derekimo. You have been a great help.

    Hi Ken, You're welcome.

There isn't much info in the latest dump, so we'll see how things continue with MSE and the 314.22 driver.

If you get another crash we can deal with that, might have to enable driver verifier but we'll deal with that when the time comes.
