Asus Sonicmaster X102BA Win7 64bit Resume From Sleep Mode USB_Bug_code

Hi,
I downgraded from windows 8 to windows 7 64 bit and after trying lots of steps (with help from this forum) I eventually got all drivers installed and the USB 3.0 port working. However every time the PC tries to resume from sleep mode the PC freezes for about 25 seconds and then reboots with the USB_Bug_code BSOD error. See attached details of PC. I can try anything requested and appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hi there,

This is the second time today I've gotten symbol errors on usbhub.sys dumps.

Let's try disabling selective suspend and see if it helps,

Hi derekimo,
Thank you for your time. I tried disabling USB selective suspend mode on battery and plugged in but the same problem occurred. If I close the lid it goes into sleep mode immediately so (as a test) I also changed in the power setting not to require password on sleep mode resume. Now when I reopen the PC lid the laptop goes straight to the desktop but it is still frozen for about 25 seconds and then reboots with the BSOD.
Thank you for your help anything else I may try?

Hi tfa!

I've the exactly same problem as you in my ASUS X102BA, maybe I can contribute with my tests.

I installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit in dual-boot with the factory Windows 8. In the first attempts, I also got this BSOD, and reading the .dmp file, the problem points to usbhub.sys. Now, after a clean install of Windows 7, its updates and drivers, the problem persists, but I don't get the BSOD again...

I tried to switch-off all the PCI and USB related peripherals in BIOS, and I also tried differents options there, the drivers are not loaded in Windows, but the problem continues and the system freezes after resume from sleep or hibernation. Again I don't get the BSOD to confirm if the problem is related to USB.

One last thing I noticed is the BIOS version. In the last update (219), they say "Fix USB devices will lose after resume from S3/DS3", this works in Windows 8, but I don't know if it generated a problem for Windows 7.

I'm waiting for a ASUS response, if I have any news I will post here. If anyone have other tests, I will also try!

Thanks!

Hi evandrorech,

For the moment I have disabled sleep mode but if the battery runs out I am back to the same BSOD freezing problem very annoying. Would be great if you could post back the response from ASUS. Thank you.

PS - best of luck for the world cup

Hi,

Did anyone find a solution to this problem. I have the exact same scenario. An Asus X102b downgraded to Win 7 Pro. I've flashed the Bios to the latest version (219). I suspect Asus won't help as the Laptop was shipped with Win 8 (I contacted them about problems relating to the downgrade process and got that response).

Is this a AMD Chipset issue?

At the moment I've resorted to disabling sleep mode which isn't exactly ideal for a laptop.

A client asked me to buy 7 of this Netbooks and to downgrade them (for various reasons) to Win 7 Pro. I wish I'd never agreed to it. It took me ages to work out how to boot from an external usb DVD drive (changes in the Bios), change the partitions types, then find all the drivers for the laptop.. and then finally I face this problem.

Fortunately (or not), one of the Netbooks had a cracked screen so I had put it to one side to return to the manufacturer. I've just booted it up and in Win 8 this problem doesn't occur. Also this 'untouched' laptop is running a fairly old Bios version (212), so it would seem the problem isn't Bios related.

It must be to do with the AMD chipset and Win 7. I've got a day to resolve this or I simply set the laptops to no sleep mode.

Similar to you I had to sort his laptop for someone at night time - a paid job. However I have since given the laptop to this person and told them if I ever get a response on this website I would return and fix the problem - thus the reply

Currently I simply set the laptops to no sleep mode

I think I fixed this on mine after trying just about everything else including reinstalling Windows...

I rolled the BIOS back from 219 to 212 and that fixed it. To roll it back, install Winflash from the ASUS website, then run it from the command line as "winflash /nodate" to bypass the requirement that the BIOS can't be put back to an earlier version.

The clue was that I was having the same issue with Linux.

Let me know if this works for you.
