I have a DELL Latitude which keeps defaulting to BSOD with a stop error 0x50. All related threads require booting into Safe Mode ( Cant be done), SM with Command Prompt ( Cant be done), Dowmloading stuff ( Cant be done). All up any attempt to reboot parks me here with no possibility of doing anything. How can i solve this?

Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
You need not to boot into windows to perform this test.
If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

ok i have been able to reboot with Memtest,but, it only does 2 passes then reboots back to BSOD so now what?
cgd, let me see what I can do to help. You obviously have a hardware problem. So, lets try to determine what it is.
1. When you ran memtest did you have any errors. Were any red lines at the bottom of the screen?
2. Please boot into bios. Somewhere in your bios you will have a 'Main' or 'Monitor' option or something of that nature. Please look at motherboard and CPU temps and tell me what they are. Look at the power screen and tell me what the +12V, +5V and +3.3V readings are. If you can, I would like to see a picture of that screen and any other screens that have temp, power voltages on it.
3. Which version of memtest did you run, 5.01 or 4.20, and did you download it from Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool? If you ran 5.01 please download from the link I gave you, version 4.20 and try that one.
4. Have you opened the laptop and done anything to it?
Please try to answer #1, 2, and 4 before you do #3.
1. It did no report any errors. No red lines. When it had done 2 runs it rebooted itself to BSOD

ok i downloadedv2.1 but cant get the laptop to boot off it
I hope you downloaded V 4.20 from that link I gave you.
When you see the Dell Logo on start up press F2 that will take you to BIOS see if you have an option for temps and power you may not have one.
Download V 4.20 to a convenient place to find it. The desktop is where I always download it. You can download an ISO file or a pre configured USB option If you put a USB into the laptop and make sure you know the letter designation, run the preconfigured option and tell it the letter designation of the USB and it will install it to a USB drive, if your computer will boot from USB. On start up when you see the Dell logo, tap the F12 key and you should get a screen with all of your bootable devices, choose the one where the memtest is located The USB if you chose that option or the CD if you burned the ISO to you DVD/CD. The computer will boot into whichever you choose. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight which option you have the memtest on and press enter and your computer will boot into that.
See how that works. As I said you can use the pre configured USB tool or the ISO file. Unzip the file and tou should have an iso file. Put a CD into your dvd drive, double click the ISO file and the Windows ISO burning program will open. It should already know where your DVD/CD player is, if not tell it in the option. Press burn and it will start and burn the ISO to the CD you inserted.
Im very grateful for your help - forgive me if Im a little dense. I did download v4.2 - it wouldnt boot using it. When I see the DELL logo and hit the F2 key I very briefly see a screen asking if I want to boot into an earlier version of windows. It is very quick (1/2 sec) and then it continues to the BSOD. im trying to follow you exactly but Im sorry if Im missing something.
OK, try pushing F12, tou should boot into BIOS, go to Boot options or boot priority or something similar, change the boot order to make which ever one you made to be the 1st boot device. If you made the cd from the ISO file, make the DVD/CD the 1st boot device. While still in bios, put the CD in and close it. Save and exit. you should boot into memtest. Make sure the Laptop is plugged in before you start. Just let it run for 8 full passes or until you get an error. If you get an error you can press escape and stop the test. The ram failed. Let us know how that works.
