driver irql not less or equal

I started getting this error on this gigabyte motherboard system a couple months ago with Windows XP Pro.

Updated drivers, changed memory and even did a fresh install of XP.

Today I installed Windows 7 Pro 64 and hoped that it would solve my problem. It didn't.

    Can anyone help?

I have the dump files...but don't know what to do with them.

    Thanks!

    Hi and welcome

to upload the dump files you need to zip them. Then attach then using the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) in the reply form

If you need help with this let us know

Update your nvidia display driver. It's a few versions old and by far the most likely culprit.

The stack is smashed because of the nature of the crash, buuuut...

I updated the nvidia driver with ver 191.7 dated 10-5-09.
    Still crashing ...now even sooner.
Here are 2 dump files after the driver update.
    Thanks.

I was having the same issues on my bros PC with the nv driver crashing and it turned out that I had to bump the ram voltage a bit. Raise the north bridge and ram voltage and see if it helps out..

Your hardware is broken. In these new dumps it's far more obvious.

It's not possible to tell from a minidump whether it's just a matter of tinkering with voltages, as Zahl suggested, or whether the video card is outright broken.

If you're overclocking, that's the first thing I'd suggest you stop doing. Make sure the machine is adequately cooled.

Afterwards, you may as well cross your fingers and start jiggling the voltage settings. Good luck.
