    Windows failed to start 0xc000000f

    Hi,

I have a windows 7 home prem refurbished pc 32 bit. And when I start the system I get the following message.

    Boot Manager:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1.Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
2.Choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
    3.Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

It started with an ipod that was plugged in and the pc would not recognise. Then upon startup the system would not accept the password to login.

I have tried a win 7 32bit repair disk burnt from another machine, but it is saying windows cannot repair the pc? I have read a few threads on here and have tried a few things (!) diskpart, chkdsk, bootrec etc.

I’m not sure what I am doing and I am no further forward!

Help from anyone would be gratefully received.

    Thanks in advance
    Michael

Within Startup repair > diagnosis and repair details

    Root cause found:

The operating system version is incompatible with Startup Repair.

I am fairly sure (!) my system is 32 bit, the repair disk is 32 bit, does it matter that the windows sticker on my pc states refurbished PC's?

Using BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD doesn't seem to find any installations, I'm not sure if I'm using the command on the correct drive?

Also my disk only seems to have two partitions?

Work through these steps which try everything possible for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start
leading up to if necessary rescuiing your files to do a perfect Clean Reinstall.

The steps are sequenced so that completing one increases the likelihood that the next will work if the previous one fails. Report back results as you go as there may be additional steps indicated.
