BSOD 7A randomly crashed in WIN7 but no problem in WIN8

    Dear,

My Sony VGN-Z36 randomly crashed with 7a code, I have checked my memory, hard disk, SSD days and nights but no error detected. I've had this laptop with Win7 x64 for 4 years, the 7a problem came up months ago, and even the Sony Service found no error with the hardware. Then I try WIN8 for a month, everything is fine, but the 7a code comes up once I downgrade to WIN7. I bought a new pair of memory, and the 7A still here.

Some one can help ? BIG THANKS!

    Hi o0elvin0o.

Make it sure that Your Plextor PX_64M3 SSD is running with the up-to-date firmware.
    Downloads - M3 Series

Also post screenshots of both your HDD and SSD using CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World

    Let us know.

    Code:
    KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
    KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.

    Hi Arc,

Please check my disk info, the SDD firmware was up to date. The 7a problem came before 1.06 firmware and it still remains, BSOD crashes twice a day or few times a week. I test the win7 with another 2G RAM for weeks, no problem, then i replace it with the old two, 7a again.

It should not be an issue with the RAM, but the storage.

SMART data are good, but that is not enough all the times to determine the health of the disc. And your primary disc is a SSD, we cannot apply the conventional disc checks on it.

Make it sure that there is no problem with the disc connectivity. Change the SATA cables if needed and apply those on the unused ports of the motherboard.

    Let us know.
