BSOD playing Watch dogs caused by atikmdag.sys

Hi i recently installed watch dogs and played for a few hours before i started noticing weird lag, even though i was on low settings and my computer gear is above requirements.
About 4 hours into the game i got a BSOD and the computer rebooted, this happened about 3 more times as i kept on playing like an idiot.
I have the latest driver updates and im pretty sure my graphic card itself is fine, if anyone has recently resolved this you're welcome to shine some light!
I used BlueScreen viewer to see why this was happening and it came up with a problem in the
atikmdag.sys driver. I've uploaded a screen shot of the program.

    Specs:

    CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD7950 3GB OC Edition V2
    Memory: Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
    Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H Motherboard

    Hi remsta.

You are having a series of BugCheck A0000001 which is a bugcheck inherent in ATI/AMD display.
    Code:
    BugCheck A0000001, {5, 0, 0, 0}

    Probably caused by : atikmdag.sys ( atikmdag+277ce )

    Followup: MachineOwner
    ---------
And the installed version of the display driver is very old.
    Code:
    fffff880`05aa3000 fffff880`065b9000 atikmdag T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: atikmdag.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmdag.sys
        Image name: atikmdag.sys
        Timestamp: Thu Dec 20 02:08:55 2012 (50D225DF)
        CheckSum: 00AC6529
        ImageSize: 00B16000
        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
Update the driver, but not to the latest one. Uninstall your installed version of the display driver.

Then clean up any possible leftover.

Then install version 13.9 WHQL only.

Let us know the situation with this driver installed.

    Yes! Thankyou heaps
Been playing for about 5 hours now and near to no lag and no BSOD and i've been playing it on high graphics.
I thought my drivers were all updated but something must've gone wrong.
    Thankyou very much!

Hey, there's no more blue screens lately but sometimes it gets really laggy, and can just crash forcing me to restart the game.

Almost everyone having BSOD in Watch Dogs. This happen due to previous version of AMD Catalyst Drivers or Nvidia SLI Profile or due to the Gamepad which needs to be unplugged and then re-plugged back when the game starts. This is because of the bad coding and optimization by Devs.
