    Random BSOD 0x0000003b

    Hi

Lately I have begun getting a lot of BSOD on my windows 7 professional 64bit system. They seem to come at random intervals, however they do seem to come more often when playing Dota 2. 2 BSOD last night and 1 this morning.

I poked around the forums a bit and found the DM log collector tool. I ran it and have attached the zip file to my post. If any more information is needed, please dont hesitate to ask for it.

    Regards

    Welcome to 7 Forums.

As you can see here there are multiple instances of your nVidia driver casuing problems. Also, Avast is causing problems too.

1: Go to the nVidia drivers page to download the latest nVidia drivers. Follow NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems to perform the cleanest install possible.

2: Uninstall Avast then Install MS Security Essentials (which is known to cause no issues) and MalwareBytes.

       Note
Make sure you uncheck the 'Enable Free Trial' box when installing MalwareBytes.

3: Download and run RAM - Test with Memtest86+ and follow the instructions to the letter. Make sure MemTest86+ runs for at least 8 passes.

    Post back with your results.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. Have sorted the Nvidia driver and uninstalled Avast. Will run memtest when I have the time in the near future. Will post back with results.

    Sooo, here the status.

As writen earlier, the Nvidia drivers haven been sorted and Avast uninstalled. I have also installed MS Security Essentials and MalwareBytes (and scanned the pc).

I then ran MemTest for 8 passes without errors but I just received another BSOD with the same error code.

I dont know if this has any relevance but I installed some windows updates which caused my Chrome browser to be unable to save files, instead it would just crash/shutdown. I reverted back with the help if system restore and its now working again.

I have attached another zip file for your viewing pleasure.

    regards

OK, your nVidia drivers are still causing problems.

    Code:
    fffff880`06ee7778 fffff880`1045b742Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\nvlddmkm.sys, Win32 error 0n2

Which drivers did you install? At this point I'd start working backwards until you find a stable driver.

This is the driver I installed: 337.88-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql

Guess I just need to try them out to see if I can find one that is stable.

Thank you for your help mate. Its greatly appreciated

No problem. Follow essenbe's tutorial every time you install a new driver, and if it still keeps happening make sure to post back.
