Quick thought. Can you boot into BIOS and check to see if Legacy USB is enabled? If it is, switch it to Auto.

First of all....not my first rodeo... no offense... I obviously installed all the motherboard drivers on the disc that came with the board right after windows 7 was done.... they were all rather old though and I had issues with chipset and other right off the bat. I think I may have installed a newer chipset driver after that from Intel's site based on some research I had done into this motherboard of horrors....

That being said. I seem to have jostled something becuase I have had about 4 successful shut downs now since that last shut down induced Bsod.

That would have been the time to consider an RMA for the board.

I thought you had an EVGA motherboard. ????? They may not even have the same chips or firmware.

You are right... the thought of an RMA had crossed my mind. I got the board used from a guy though... I did have the box and book and everything so I suppose I could still and may still try that route. However I think some of the chipset issues were pretty universal with this board. From all the blogs I read many people were offered upgrades to the "dark" after that board came out because so many people had issues with this board. After installing the drivers from the boards CD I was getting the hardware issue yellow exclamation, I followed instructions from some EVGA forums and was able to get past that... then my USB woes started and the crashes on shutdown began. I am sorry if I came off crass... it's just by the time I got to this forum I had already pulled my hair out trying to rectify this mess. I think Evga just put out a screwy board with a screwy chipset.

*It seems installing the chipset from the Evga site has cleared up this USB issue For the time being... hopefully it stays that way. I am really greatfull for all of you guys helping me regardless.

You're welcome. If you do get any more issues post back straight away. And massive kudos to Carwiz for picking up on the chipset drivers, top work Ken.

Hey guys.... its me...again... I think its time to call EVGA and ask for an RMA. The crashing is back.... Driver state power failure it said on the BSOD. I have read NUMEROUS complaints about the USB 3.0 and power issues on this board and I think this must be deeper than a simple driver issue. Here is the last dump from today.... I tried finding legacy usb support in Bios but the Bios on this board are so damn convoluded, I cant find the setting anywhere.

It's all boiling down to the VIA Labs VL810 Superspeed USB Hub Controller Filter Driver again.

I don't know what to say. I'm stumped at this point. If it is something inherent with the board I'd be asking for a refund or a straight up replacement, I'm not sure how this would even be fixed. I'm really sorry I can't be of more help mate.

I'm not sure what it is either, as it's connected to the ASMedia controller I can only presume it's integrated into the motherboard. I'll do some research and see what I can find.

Can you check the date of the firmware you have installed? I've just come across this.
