    Re-Imaged PC has BSOD Error ***STOP 0x0000007e


    I am currently trying to re-image a Thinkcenter M92 Desktop and it appears that after I wiped the PC and re-imaged it the BSOD appears and the system loops.

    I have tried to start in the safe mode and normal mode and neither work.

    Yet if I installed just the Windows 7 Pro disc and use that to image the PC the computer works.

    I have never had an issue with the image that I am using on the desktop and all other desktops I have used it on have been fine.

    The Desktop was playing up before I carried out this re-build but I don't understand why after cleaning it up the issue is present. I have checked the memory on a memtest and all is fine.

    Can anyone advise me please.

    Hi GOHILS01.

    Most probably the image has some drivers or programs which are not being capable to work for any reason, difficult to say without seeing a crash dump (which you cannot obtain in the situation that you described).

    Better you go for a clean reinstall and them take a new image of it.

    Hello Arc,

    Thank You for replying back to me. I think you may be right as I have used the image on a ThinkCenter M93 for months and not had a issue but I am working on this PC which is a M92 model and I need to re-image it for a new user.
    One of the issue I get is that I am able to install a clean Windows 7 on this PC but that then means I am missing lots of applications and drivers which would take me 2 days to install on the PC. The image I have tried to install with out drivers and that failed and then I tried installed a newer updated image with all the latest drivers for the M92 model and it gets to 58% install of windows and then the BSOD appears.

    Hi GOHILS01.

    Yes it is a fact that a clean reinstall plus all customizations and personalization takes a lot of time; but the end result is worthy. :)
