    Random BSOD, Unknown errorcode

    Hello there,
Recently my computer began randomly turning off - not shutting down, but just cutting the power.
I immediately suspected the Power Supply, as this is a normal symptom for a bad one. At the moment i do not have a spare Power Supply which is powerfull enough for testing my build. - I am working on acquiring one.
I noticed that the red DRAM_LED on the motherboard is lit when the computer is powering off. Therefore i suspected the RAM, but i tried chaning them, which did not help at all.
Yesterday, I ran into a couple of BSOD's instead of just powering off. I most certainly hope that these events is related to the random powering off, then i can get some info regarding the problem.

    Attached: ZIP file as wished

    Best regards,

Hello so i believe it was cause by a driver called "hal.dll".

Most common cause of this error is the boot sequence, have a look in the bios change the boot order and try to boot from the install disk.

I also noticed this in the event log:

    Code:
    Event[8483]:
      Log Name: System
      Source: hcmon
      Date: 2014-06-28T10:07:53.618
      Event ID: 0
      Task: N/A
      Level: Warning
      Opcode: N/A
      Keyword: Classic
      User: N/A
      User Name: N/A
      Computer: CBladt-Desktop
      Description:
    Detected unrecognized USB driver (\Driver\pci).
Try unplugging any usb devices that you have plugged in and try to re-boot.

Well it could be Graphics driver related, do you play any other full screen games?

Just a little tip for your Harrie, hal.dll is not the cause unless the OS has been corrupted or via virus infection.
That is the Hardware Abstraction Layer that is located within the Kernel (Ntoskrnl.exe), it completes low level routines that require specific hardware information and sends the data via the kernel to the sender, this can be blamed for many reasons mainly due to hardware related operations at the time of the fault.
Its the low layer of code that isolates the Kernel from the hardware by hiding low level hardware interfaces such as I/O interfaces, Interrupt Controllers and multiprocessor communication mechanisms (any functions that are architecture specific or machine dependent)

    This is a strange 0x124...

    Code:
Error : Internal timer (Proc 0 Bank 3)
      Status : 0xbe00000000800400
      Address : 0x0000380002c87750
      Misc. : 0x000000000003ffff
You've had 2 Internal Timer errors which I believe are synchronization mechanisms.
You've also had a generic level 2 cache error.

    Code:
    Error : GCACHEL2_ERR_ERR (Proc 1 Bank 5)
      Status : 0xbe2000000005110a
      Address : 0x00000003c8db8300
      Misc. : 0x000000d082000086
Its even on a completely different processor so a bad CPU doesn't seem as likely, from what you've described it sounds like a bad PSU.

I think at this moment in time we should stress test them all which I don't normally ask.

Stress test your CPU with Prime95

I recommend running Prime95 for around 2 hours

       Warning

As with most stress tests your component's temperature will rapidly increase.
It is advised that you download a temperature monitoring program like HWmonitor
Keep an eye on your temperatures and stop the tests if it starts to overheat

Stress test your graphics card with Furmark

I recommend running it for around 30 minutes

       Warning

Furmark will increase the temperature of your GPU rapidly so keep and eye on your temperatures

    Memtest86 will test your RAM

       Information

Run Memtest86 for at least 8 passes so we get enough information to confirm that your RAM isn't failing

Try taking out the CMOS battery on the motherboard then placing it back in to ensure no improper settings have been made.

    Post back the results.

    Hi again,
I tried re-installing the graphics driver. That did not help.

I too believe that the problem is not caused by hal.dll, as the problem existed before and after i formatted my harddrive and reinstalled Windows.

I do not understand why low-level compiling errors would show up due to a faulty PSU, can you explain that?

I have tried stresstesting both my CPU and GPU. The computer powers off 5-15 minutes in the test. I seems it crashes as soon as the CPU gets under load - when it draws some extra power.
I have not tested my RAM, but i have tried replacing them with some functional blocks i had lying around.

I have tried hardresetting my bios, and configure it from scratch. That is actually why i altso formatted the computer - My RAID got cluttered up. -.-

    Regards,
    Casper

Any other ideas than trying a new PSU?
