BSOD-Driver Power State Failure-Please Help

Hi All

Being the non-technical, geekless person I am, I would certainly very much appreciate your assistance in ascertaining why I have just experienced a BSOD during Shutdown which took over half-an-hour.

My Windows 7 Ultimate x64 was working perfectly up until now and I am at a total loss as to why this has occurred.

I have attached a Crash Report courtesy of NirSoft's BlueScreenView software program.

According to what you attached in the screenshot, it appears that one of your services failed to stop or shut down, causing the system to go in to a infinite loop that tried to kill that process.

It is just a one time event or does it happen often?

Thanks for your response.

No it's the first time I've had a BSOD in years.

The only actions I did prior to the shutdown were:

1) Ran CCleaner for the first time since installing the latest version earlier today.

2) Changed the Ownership of my NetGear WNDA3100 Adapter shortcut for my wireless internet FROM 'System' to 'Administrators'


The system seems to be somewhat stable now since rebooting and changing the ownership of the above back to System?

No I definetly didn't use CCleaners registry cleaner and I agree with your recommendation not to use Registry Cleaners.

Anyway, it seems to have settled down since this morning and since I made the change I mentioned.

The only other action I neglected to mention I carried out prior to the BSOD was I installed CyberLink's PowerDVD Ultra 8, but I wouldn't of thought that would of been the culprit.
