BSOD running games.
Occasionally I've been getting a BSOD running different games. It doesn't seem specific because sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't.
As well sometimes my graphics display crashes.

Hello Db335,
Can you follow the steps below, in regards to the Graphics.
1. Click the start menu.
2. Type in Device Manager.
3. Expand Display Adapters.
(There should be one device listed there, let me know if more than one)
4. Right-click the device from the menu.
5. Select properties.
6. Click the menu driver.
Please post a screenshot on here of what it brings up. Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums
Just a question, when you open Device Manager, does it display anything with a yellow triangle?
Can you also run a scan with http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Malwarebytes will product a log, please can you upload it to here? Navigate to: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Logs and upload the logs to here, which have todays date.
Please follow this guide, written by Gerry Conrell.
Please upload and share with everyone fresh copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer.
To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window select Windows Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files.
Thank you,
VinnyBuxton
Additional information is required.
1. Download the DM Log Collector application to your desktop by clicking the link below
DM Log Collector.exe
2. Run it by double-clicking the icon on your desktop, and follow the prompts.
3. Locate the .ZIP file that is created on your desktop, and upload it here in your next reply.
Db335 is another poster, so I wonder if you intended to put that post in another thread? Either way, here is all the stuff you two asked me to put up.
It just happened again, and it only ever happens while I'm playing a game. Sometimes the game will crash and I'll get "driver has stopped responding and has recovered". Sometimes the screen blacks out and I just hear a repeat of sounds in-game til it recovers. That or I just get the BSOD. Also my card shows 6 options for audio now when it was always only one. Don't know if it matters but I'll upload a picture of that.

Nope - I posted that specifically for you since its impossible to diagnose BSOD's without the .dmp files that you have now uploaded :)
All the .dmp files point to an outdated display driver. Run Windows Update and see if it finds and offers an updated display driver - if so, install it and monitor for further BSOD's.Code:*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for atikmdag.sys *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for atikmdag.sys ******************************************************************************* * * * Bugcheck Analysis * * * ******************************************************************************* Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information. Well I even updated it to the latest beta drivers and it is still doing it. Somehow for me it wouldn't really make sense that it's the driver being outdated though. As I played games with the drivers off the original disk after building the pc and it was all fine. Now a couple weeks later I get BSOD and display driver failing.
Hello Enphoria,
Sorry about that, I was quite tired last night and must of got confused of who I was replying it.
I've found a link on the Microsoft website, which displays how to fix driver has stopped responding and has recovered, which you have been experiencing: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error in Windows 7 or Windows Vista
Please run the following FixIt: Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows
In the Device Manager, there's two devices with a yellow triangle. Please right-click them separately and select properties, can you post a screenshot of what it brings up?
Do you use Adobe Air much on your computer? There should be two Malwarebytes logs - you only uploaded one. Please can you upload the other?
Thank you,

Thank you for the replies and help thus far. Someone suggested simply re-installing windows to see if the problem persists while just installing the latest display driver and playing a single game, and I figured what the hell since there's not much on it.
As such, I haven't downloaded anything other than my graphics drivers and the game, not even windows updates.
Thus far I've had no BSOD or display failures playing the same game I couldn't play for more than a couple minutes without those issues pre re-install. Hopefully this means it wasn't a hardware issue.
I saved all the logs and screens I took, and will save all links in case the problem returns.
Unfortunately, you now stand the risk of introducing other problems by not having Windows updated. If that isn't a concern to you, then thats all OK.
