Windows 7: Blue Screen BCCode 124

I suspect the Intel SSD. Since I ran the tests I listed there have not been any more problems. And, again, that is the only difference between Win 8, which did not get the WHEA errors (after the memory was reseated), and Win 7.

However, I suspect the original BCC code problem was memory seating.

After almost 50 years in computers, I've learned not to make a "flat" statement. Just "suspect"

I'm marking this solved. The BCC 124 halts have gone away since the memory has been removed and reinstalled (reseated). The other problem with the WHEA has also stopped, on both Win 7 and Win 8 since the Intel diagnostics have been run on the Intel SSD.

If the errors ever come back, considering what has been done, the CPU, motherboard and power supply are the only things left. I've got another motherboard I could use (an ASRock Z77) which would be the first move. It will have to wait, though, as I've got too many recording sessions scheduled for the next month.

Thanks for the help.

UGH! The problem has resurfaced (or never left). I'm getting the BCC 124 BSOD and an occasional WHEA error.

I've replaced memory (no change), replaced the motherboard (no change), tried a different power supply (no change), used the internal Intel HD4000 video or separate video card (no change). Disconnect all the SSD/Hard drives except the OS drive and it happens on both Win 7 and Win 8 (different OS SSD's).

The only thing left is the CPU. it hurts ($$) but the only thing left so I've ordered a new i7 3770 this morning.

The Intel CPU tests do not show any problems. I have a copy of the UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD) and ran all the CPU tests on that and nothing showed up.

That's great new, Jack. I'm glad you resolved your problems. I would try to RMA the old CPU. No matter what the tests say, with what you've done and your results with a new CPU, the proof is there.

Yes, I'm going to try and get Intel to replace it. I have a backup system that could use the i7.

I got an RMA from Intel. I wonder what will happen when they get it? All the diagnostics I could run, including the Intel Processor diagnostic tool, passed with no errors. I included printouts of the WHEA errors for Processor 2 and 3, so maybe they will take that.
