I can get someone to come look at the files and see which ones are corrupted. But a clean install will fix tyhem and most likely a lot of other things. But first let me tell you my thoughts on the computer.

Your CPU was released in 2004 which makes your computer probably 9-10 years old. You have a 108 W Power supply, which is quite small. Also consider that all OEM computers use low cost, low end power supplies which tend to loose power over time. You have 2 GB of Ram. The most a 32 it system can address is about 3.5 GB. But, that is a considerable increase over what you have now. But, I suspect it takes about 50% of your ram just to run Windows. You are using on board graphics which use shared system memory, which means they use part of the memory you have left over after Windows for graphics. That leaves you very little to do anything else. When you do graphics oriented things, it requires more power and more ram. I'm sure your computer did not come with Windows 7 installed on it and suspect you would have had problems finding Windows 7 drivers for it. Personally, I would be reluctant to put more money into it.

To upload the SFC scan results. Please open an elevated command prompt ( click the start button, type cmd in the search box, right click the cmd entry that appears and select run as administrator. You will have to provide admin permissions) In the box that appears copy and paste this in the box and push enter findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt" That should put a sfc details text file on your desktop upload the text file.

Please let us know how it comes out. I'm sorry I had to deliver the bad news, but That is pretty much the way I see it. Hopefully a clean install will fix most things. Windows 7 is pretty driver complete and will find drivers for most things for you. Just be sure you have your Lan and WiFi driver, if you use it, to allow you to get online to find whatever drivers you may need. You can put them on a USB drive or a CD. If HP has a chipset driver for Windows 7, get that too. Be sure to back up all personal files first. Also, disconnect 1 wire from any hard drives you have installed except the one you want Windows installed on. After the install is complete, shut down the computer and attach the wire back to all other drives you have. Then run all Windows updates, and keep checking until there are no more updates. Then go to device manager and see what has yellow icons on it, and those will be the drivers you need to install. Please let us know if you have any problems and let us know how things go.
