    BSOD with error : driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

    Hi all,

I am experiencing BSOD for several times already. The last BSOD error is driver_irql_not_less_or_equal. I have attached the report as per instruction on the BSOD posting guide.

Could you please help to find out what is wrong with my ASUS laptop?

    Thank you

    Hi rryanto.

Download Drivers for Atheros AR9285 and Windows 7 .... install it following Driver Install - Device Manager

Uninstall McAfee Security Scan Plus. You got it from an update to adobe flash player only. You dont need it.
Uninstall Advanced System Care too, it is a pure snake oil.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept then restart.

Let us know the situation. If still network bloackge and BSODs continue to occur, we have to have a closer look to your other crapwares.

    Hi Arc,

I have installed the Atheros Driver & McAfee Security Scan Plus. However I still keep ASC cause I like the tools & utilities. I also have disable some of the startup programs but not all. On 29 Aug & today 5 Sep, the BSOD happened again with the same error message. Attached herewith are the reports.

If you think that its necessary to disable all the startup programs except for the antivirus then I will do that.

Thank you and looking forward to your reply.
