memtest shows nothing after a 2 passes and prime95 has been running a blend test for 26 minutes with no freeze, memtest86 showed no errors but I'm gonna run it again over night just in case, got any idea on how I can quickly find the root of my problem? I'm very grateful for your help so far, but I'm a bit miffed it never occurred to me the the XMP might be at fault, I assumed it would just be safe to use as it showed the config that Corsair recommended but I guess I've got a bacj stick or possibly even a bad slot on my motherboard...

I always buy Corsair for RAM, and often for PSUs too, I always recommend them also, its the first time I've ever had a Corsair product not live up to the standard I expect, hopefully I can prove beyond any doubt that it is in fact a bad stick and isolate that bad stick and get it replaced soon!
