BSOD shortly after startup, error 0x0000007e event 1001, BugCheck

Please don't bump the thread, not only is it against forum rules but it actually has
the opposite effect making the thread look busy as if some other member is taking the lead on it.

Now to the bugchecks.
The bugchecks appear to be due to iaStorA.sys looping, this is somewhat common.
I didn't see any suggestion that you have a raid setup in some manner but I want to make sure,
do you happen to know if you do?

Oh im sorry i didnt't realize that was against the rules. TO your question i dont think there is a raid setup as there is just a C drive so i would assume no raid setup but im not entierly sure. If there is no raid setup how do i procede on fixing the problem. Thanks for the response.

P.S. I cant currently update the driver because i was troubleshooting and found a potential problem could be with ram so the computer is going through the memtest86. It is currently on 4 passes with 0 errors, but if the problem is a dirver could i end it?

Please follow these steps in removing IRST:

Get rid of intel rapid storage. First uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Then Uninstall the driver from device manager.

Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
It will open the "computer management" window.
Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
Select one Intel device item under it, right click, uninstall.
Continue the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.

Ok so there are some problems. I went to uninstall IRST from the control panel > programs and features and it wasnt there. Then i went to check and see if the driver still was but IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers were not in the device manager. But i then noticed there were 2 disk drives a SSD PM830 mSATA SCSI Disk Device and the other ST 1000LMO24 HN-SCSI Disk Device but im certain there is only one hard drive. It saying there are 2 doesnt make sense since there is only a 1TB HDD. There is also a Intel(R) Mobile express chipset SATA RAID controller under storage controller. So im a bit stumped on whats is causing the problem.

Don't be :) .

You do have two storage devices, I believe that the 8GB mSATA device is used for speeding
up the HDD via acting as a cache.

iaStorA.sys is being used by that same SATA controller you pointed out,
"Intel Mobile express chipset SATA RAID controller" , I have asked for more eyes on this
subject before we continue onwards. They should be here soon hang tight :) .

Hi hamarthas.

As Intel Rapid Storage is used as the RAID driver there (for memory caching to the 8 GB mSATA SSD), you will not be able to uninstall IRST following the above method. You have to disable it in BIOS.

Boot into the BIOS, advanced settings. Change the storage controller mode to AHCI or ATA/IDE whichever is available. Also disable anything like Intel Smart Response or Intel Rapid Storage. Save and Exit from the BIOS ... try to boot back to windows.

There is a huge possibility that Windows will refuse to boot after changing the storage controller mode. In that cause, you will need to perform a clean reinstall.

Hectic and time consuming, but that is the way to not use the iaStor drivers when used as RAID driver.

We may suggest an update to this driver, but that will not work for a long run.

Hello Arc thanks for responding to my problem. So what would you suggest i do? First backup things i would want to keep on my computer. Then make a win 7 reinstall disk just in case the computer wont work after disabling those drivers.

All your questions are nicely answered in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 ... you may have a look.

My guru essenbe suggests that you should follow AHCI : Enable in Windows 7 / Vista .... here is what he advised me on your issue, if you want to have a look.
