One question if you don't mind You stated
IPDT (sometimes ok, sometimes not ok)
The file you showed said it passed. When you say sometimes not OK, did you ever get a test to complete and it said fail? I ask, because, as I stated in my post above, if you get a 0X124 BSOD while running the IPD test, that does not constitute a fail. That only constitutes a failure of some piece of hardware during the test. Most likely not the CPU. Just for your information, the CPU is normally the last piece of hardware that will fail, unless it has been seriously abused. It does happen, but rarely.

A peculiar problem for sure. In your first post, you said you did a bios flash and fresh install. All the weird symptoms, where temps appear okay..yet the BSODs occur may be a quirky BIOS flash. I would re flash after clearing the cmos, and try again.
Good suggestion, Dude. That was why I was trying to see what his bios settings are now, so we know how to set it back up when he does that and then sets optimized defaults, which I realize is what is supposed to happen, but doesn't always, so I always do that, just to make sure.

Also, to make you feel more at ease, Both your Motherboard and CPU have a 3 year warranty on them. If either one of them turn out to be defective.

Just for clarification, is this your motherboard? There is a p9x79, a P9X79 LE. a P9X79 Pro and a P9X79 WS. I just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

Thanks Steve, I am no where near your level of expertise, but I have had a BIOS flash that just didn't work out. I really think with the temp readings, and the weird issues that that may be it. Windows sure can be fun sometimes.

I haven't looked at his other thread because I am watching football at the time, but I will soon to see if something else sticks out

    Thanks!

Well, the SSD is ok, the HDD which I'm not really using can't be checked with SeaTools, because SeaTools sees no HDD as well as no SSD, also on my other PCs, it seems faulty. The sfc /scannow ran ok. The AMD link shows no driver for my AMD Fire Pro graphics card, only Radeon models are mentioned; I have no left over drivers from before, because I did not install any after the "total re-install"; I don't necessarily need a graphics card, because the PC only computes, like the others. The DRAM Primary Timings look like this: DRAM CAS# Latency 9/9, DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay 9/9, DRAM RAS# Pre Time 9/9, DRAM RAS# ACT Time 27/27, DRAM Command Rate 1/1, DRAM Voltage (CHA/CHB) shows 1.5V, DRAM Frequency is Auto. The SATA Mode is AHCI Mode. The CPU Voltage is 1.17V. The 12V Voltage is 12.192V. The 5V Voltage is 5.12V. The 3.3V Voltage is 3.34V.

    I hope that's useful?

Cheers, I flashed the BIOS twice. Same BSODs as mentioned in this thread's title.

It's the ASUS P9X79 PRO mainboard.

By the way - in case it's the mainboard; how does one claim the warranty? The dealer where I purchased all components for all PCs went bankrupt long ago. Does one send the part back to ASUS HQ?
