The file you showed said it passed. When you say sometimes not OK, did you ever get a test to complete and it said fail? I ask, because, as I stated in my post above, if you get a 0X124 BSOD while running the IPD test, that does not constitute a fail. That only constitutes a failure of some piece of hardware during the test. Most likely not the CPU. Just for your information, the CPU is normally the last piece of hardware that will fail, unless it has been seriously abused. It does happen, but rarely.

Good suggestion, Dude. That was why I was trying to see what his bios settings are now, so we know how to set it back up when he does that and then sets optimized defaults, which I realize is what is supposed to happen, but doesn't always, so I always do that, just to make sure.

Also, to make you feel more at ease, Both your Motherboard and CPU have a 3 year warranty on them. If either one of them turn out to be defective.

Just for clarification, is this your motherboard? There is a p9x79, a P9X79 LE. a P9X79 Pro and a P9X79 WS. I just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

Thanks Steve, I am no where near your level of expertise, but I have had a BIOS flash that just didn't work out. I really think with the temp readings, and the weird issues that that may be it. Windows sure can be fun sometimes.

I haven't looked at his other thread because I am watching football at the time, but I will soon to see if something else sticks out
