Okay so it could be your motherboard that cant handle the 2 cards, maybe it has a hardware problem.

I'm planning to do a complete system upgrade by next year with Haswell-E or SkyLake and Maxwell and DDR4 so I just need this computer to hold out for me until then.
playing on a 144 Hz monitor, I sorely miss my second card for the higher frames.
