BSOD occurring randomly but no BSOD message just restarting.
Hi,
This is my first time posting, so sorry if my thread title is awful but really didn't know how to explain my system problems, I've been using these forums for a long time with previous issues and have tried so much with my current problems to fix it myself, but my PC knowledge/experience has a limit.
I am getting completely random BSOD type shutdowns without the blue screen appearing with any messages, this can happen during a virus scan (MSE) or during malwarebytes premium scan, happens during /sfc scannow, randomly IE9 or Chrome can crash/not respond of which sometimes can lead to a BSOD type crash, it's happened whilst installing Windows updates or searching for any new updates.
A few fresh installs ago I was getting these problems WITH BSOD messages and I thought it might be bad memory so I ran memtest86 for 7 passes on each stick in each slot, one was bad so I have since purchased new RAM and a new SSD (which was my reward for finding a problem out all by myself). I got problems again still so I completed another fresh install and installed the basics as a test, latest gfx drivers, motherboard drivers, then struggled with windows updates, any that failed repeatedly I downloaded and installed from MS website, then my antivirus software and I'm still getting random BSODs and IE/Chrome crashing (ALOT).
I should add I followed the steps for my SSDs in this link: Solid State Drive (SSD) Tweaks for Windows 7
Not sure if that's any help, I have a nasty gut feeling it's a dodgy PSU/Mobo but my wallet is hoping it really isn't, if it is the case I'd rather the PROs tell me straight over randomly searching websites for answers. Many Thanks
