    BSOD while watching a DVD

I've recently been getting alot of NVIDIA crashes, while watching YouTube, but it recovered quickly every time, with only minor graphical bugs afterward so I didn't worry about it, but today I got this BSOD while watching a DVD, I assume the two might be linked somehow. Thank you for any help you can give me, I really don't want this computer to break, I've only had it for a year now. Only computer I've ever owned, so please forgive my lack of technical knowledge

Edit: it may be useful to know that my computer is rarely turned off, and never for an extended period of time

    Code:
    BugCheck 124, {0, fffffa8002b8e038, b2000040, 800}

    Probably caused by : GenuineIntel

A stop 0x124 is usually a hardware error.

    Are you overclocking?
As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

    Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

    Let us know the results.

I'm not overclocking, and I've included an upload of my Speccy stats as "Specs.PNG".
My NVIDIA crashed as soon as I started the Furmark Burn Test.
CPU and RAM tests were fine.
So, it looks like it's my GPU... is there any way to change the settings to stop my NIVIDA from crashing?

The computer is too hot. Furmark must to crash with this heat.

It is laptop, aging about 4 years. It needs some attention ... dusting and re-pasting the thermal compound.

Open the computer. Clean everything inside very carefully, without breaking anything. Clean all the air vents and the fan grills so that it can blow the hot air out efficiently.

When done, apply new thermal compound to the CPU heatsneak while reseating the computer.

If you cannot do it yourself, get it done by any hardware technician. But this is a must.

When done, run furmark again ... let us know the result, and post another speccy screenshot.

Dont do anything more before it is done. Any other test will cause bad in the present situation.

Thank you for your help, I'll try to get it looked at by a technician, I don't trust myself to open the computer up. Any estimate to how much it'll cost?
