    Mr. Smiley,

Your job trying to solve this issue is being a great help to all of us who are suffering it. It's been three days since I uninstalled Firefox and I have not had any errors. I will continue reporting.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Lobram

Thank you for your kind comments.

Don't worry, I'm not giving up the fight. I'm sure I'll be back on Windows 7 shortly and rest assured, I am in ongoing email and phone contact with Microsoft Tech Support with regard to this particular issue and will provide details as they become available.

Always a pleasure helping people like you Lobram!

    Cheers, Neil

According to Mozilla this issue has now been fixed with a workaround until Microsoft can resolve it on a permanent basis.

From the Mozilla developers via my official bug report here:

    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=518412

Our Microsoft contacts have confirmed this to be a bug on the Windows clipboard
handling code, and have suggested a couple of workarounds for us, until they
get the problem fixed on their side.
    So there we have it.
Hopefully when we see 3.5.6/3.6b5+, this nasty little issue should be no more!

For anyone else that is suffering from this bug WITHOUT Firefox, it is due to an issue with the clipboard and any context menu featuring the 'Paste' command.

Microsoft are working on an update.

A big thank you to everyone that helped bring this issue to light, and finally get the fix we all deserve. :)

Now I can finally enjoy a fault free Windows 7 experience, with ALL my favourite applications and utilities.

(This post is a copy of my latest post from the other thread (my own) regarding this issue, I hope that is OK.)

I havent see any crashing since November as it still working fine all way and Im using Fx 3.6Beta 4 - my dad using Fx 3.5.6 -- both are prefect running under W7 without Explorer crashing as it seem that some softwares you using may cause problems like AV or any others, some of my softwares has update fix patch like Kaspersky with "a,b" critcal fix and some are update that seem fixed the problems. Im glad as Im in problem-free for over 4 weeks... hope you get the fix soon

    That's great news Lucky098.

Yeah, I made an executive decision and decided to use Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit instead of 64-bit about ten days ago and this time around did not install Firefox, but am using IE8 only.

Reliability History remains at 10/10 and would you believe I'm finding 32-bit just as fast if not faster and more reliable than 64-bit?

Thanks for keeping us all updated on how you (and your Dad) are going. That's terrific.

    Hi Lobram

Just a short courtesy note to ask how is your system progressing. Is it still 'error free?'

    Hi Mr. Smiley !!

I'm very happy with you coming back to Windows 7 !!.

On November 29 I uninstalled Firefox 3.5.5 and since then I have not had a single error (the two lows of the reliability history graph were caused by two outages in my building while I was playing with the computer, nothing related to Windows or the PC).

I use the computer between 5 and 10 hours a day (MS Office, Photoshop, Internet, utilities and specially videogames) and now I'm very happy with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits. It is very stable and I have not a single error with it. In my case all the issues were caused by Firefox . There is no doubt.

Once again, sorry about my english.
